It could’ve been the perfect day for Bubba Wallace at Talladega. He had been good for most of the race. He was in the lead moments before the checkered flag would’ve dropped, but then, he threw a massive block on Ryan Blaney, and the jubilation in sight turned to awaiting gloom within seconds.
And as if it wasn’t bad enough for Wallace and his team, it all happened in the presence of Michael Jordan, who saw his driver going from being on the verge of glory to the stage of despair.
Having said that, Jordan’s day didn’t start all that badly. Of course, his driver did well for the most part in the race.

But Jordan’s day was pretty great way before he reached the racetrack.
Michael Jordan rolled into Talladega in a $50 million jet
Captured in a video by Aviate Alabama, it’s clear that Michael Jordan arrived for Sunday’s race in his private plane. And yes, the plane has the Jordan logo on it and a custom paint job.
But that’s perhaps the least impressive bit about it. Jordan’s plane is a Gulfstream G550 which he bought in 2016.
The G550 is a large cabin long range business jet that comes with a range of over 6500 nautical miles. It can fly at 51,000 feet with a maximum cruising speed of over 500 mph.
It’s worth pointing out that Jordan has a net worth of over $2 billion, so it makes sense for him to buy a private jet reportedly worth $50 million.

Bubba Wallace wouldn’t mind if Michael Jordan kicked him out of 23XI for this reason
In an interview earlier this year, Wallace, who doesn’t endorse his boss’ Jordan brand, joked that he wouldn’t mind if MJ threw him out of his team for that reason. In fact, Wallace claimed Jordan makes “an exception” for him.

“What’s he going to do? Kick me off the race team? If he wants to, then that’s his choice,” he said.
Having said that, the reason why Wallace doesn’t rep his boss’ Jordan’s brand is that he is sponsored by Columbia. But someone like Michael Jordan wouldn’t mind if Wallace isn’t a Jordan athlete.

What he would mind though is the kind of result Wallace got in Talladega. He would hope for his driver to consistently have such good runs without the tragic end.
