NASCAR’s newfound villain and controversial veteran sensation, Denny Hamlin, is picking and poking, creating a new hot debate in the NBA community. Yes, you heard that right! The recent Draymond Green fiasco and the following events got the JGR driver’s attention to the point that the veteran walked himself into the fire after an “X” post went wrong.
The whole sporting world was rocked when the Golden State Warriors veteran took a giant swing, putting Phoenix Suns Jusuf Nurkic to the ground in pain. Quickly, the authorities intervened, getting back at Draymond Green with a stiff suspension, but the fire he fanned got things out of hand, as popular analyst Stephen A. Seeing the controversy, Denny Hamlin couldn’t help but jump in with his take. Though the 43-year-old came out in favor of the analyst, his carelessness caused another debate instead of settling it.

JGR veteran Denny Hamlin was quite confident that he could help the situation and ease the tension following Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr indirectly throwing in a stiff one at popular basketball analyst Stephen A. Smith. Coach Kerr just couldn’t help but defend his players when the analyst questioned Stephen Curry’s leadership amidst the whole Green-Nurkic kerfuffle.
While the head coach did not directly name the ESPN analyst on TV, he did say he was ‘disgusted’ with the way the analyst handled the situation. Stephen A. Smith couldn’t care less when he came out swinging against Kerr on live TV. He said, “Steve Kerr didn’t mention me by name. I’ll mention Steve Kerr by name. I’m disgusted with him [Steve Kerr].”

With tensions flaring high, Hamlin being Hamlin gave his take with a brief tweet. The “X” post read, “@Stephen is one of the highest paid, most watched, highly intelligent, most respected analysts in sports. This was him defending his comments on the Draymond situation. Doing what he gets paid to do. Analyzing a situation and giving his opinion on it. Hopefully, this helps.”

But it did not in any way, as the NASCAR driver and Michael Jordan’s business partner dragged the wrong person into the fray, tagging Stephen, a security researcher, instead of the ESPN analyst. While the JGR veteran did not notice his mistake, fans identified the blaring error and jumped him on “X.”
“Something wrong with that boy”—fans on X call out Hamlin’s blunder unapologetically
Now that physical altercations are nothing new in NASCAR, fans earlier this year witnessed multiple fistfights and brawls, starting with the Ross Chastain-Noah Gragson altercation at Kansas. Though things can get quite heated on the basketball court, punching someone with a punch is something that is bound for serious repercussions.
Consequently, following Tuesday’s game, Draymond Green was ejected from the team for the third time this season as the officials flagged the veteran with a flagrant 2 foul. The situation even got worse when Steve Kerr and Smith went to war with each other on the public platform. To add insult to injury, Denny Hamlin’s intervention did not see through, with the #11 driver tagging the wrong person. This instead caused him public embarrassment as fans trolled him with comments.

Animations rained down as fans got more and more creative. While others mentioned to the driver his mistake, “You tagged the Wrong Stephen Denny lmaooo;” “Good luck to whoever this guy that Denny tagged is…your mentions about to be a disaster.”

Whereas another fan noted, “Denny is always on the wrong side … Something wrong with that boy …” The fan comments kept pouring in as time went by with fans getting more creative with their burns.
