Following Bubba Wallace’s $1 Million fine and a one-race ban, the 23XI Racing driver posted a seemingly cryptic tweet. However, his boss and fellow driver, Denny Hamlin was quick to clarify that Wallace had no other intent to convey via his Tweet.

Hamlin stated, “I haven’t had any interaction with him other than you know just speaking to him when I pass by him, uh, through text message. But no, listen, I trust Bubba’s words. We had long conversations with him internally, and I think that he would do things differently, this is not just words and PR talk. This is Bubba. Nobody asked him to tweet that he took a bite out of a humble pie, you know.”
“That’s something that Bubba’s not had a lot of say, uh, you know those words in the past. I truly believe that he has learned the lesson, he would do things differently, uh, he’s young and it’s part of his growth.”

The tweet Hamlin was talking about was about Wallace having a “humble” pie for lunch. This was during his race suspension, where he mentioned that he would like to sit back and help the team out. The tweet seemed like it was an attempt to aid with PR and his brand image at first.
In the tweet, Wallace mentioned, “Just @DoorDash‘d some Humble Pie for lunch. Ready to sit back and help @23XIRacing get it done today.” In the picture posted along with the Tweet, we see Wallace watching two screens with the NASCAR race on one and some data on the other. Strange enough, there was another monitor in the room, where we see the broadcast of the Formula One race, with the cockpit camera view of a McLaren Racing F1 car.
