After he made his mark and slapped his car to the front of the pack, Wallace took a moment to share a few words with the people who do not consider him to be a good driver, partly because of how he is as a person. Michael Jordan‘s star is brash, outspoken, and unapologetic, traits that are reflected in his racing style when he finds himself in tough situations. But it is these traits that also make him very difficult to like for a neutral fan.

Over the years, the 23XI Racing driver has made himself a lot of haters whose judgment of him is clouded by their feelings towards him. Bubba Wallace is well aware of this and he still continues to push their buttons because, well, he just likes to prove his doubters wrong, and that is exactly what he did in Texas.

After bagging pole position, according to Sportsnaut, the 29-year-old said, “We keep outkicking the goal posts and they keep moving it. That’s fine. We’ll make it work. You can’t help DARFs.”

What Wallace meant was every time he achieved something on the racetrack, these “DARFs” (dumba** race fans) would bring up something else and question his ability to achieve that. For example, this season, Bubba Wallace found himself in a situation where his playoff chances were in jeopardy.

A number of fans did not believe in Wallace to make it through to the round of 16 but he did it in the final regular season race. In the round of 16, he was slated by many to be one of the first drivers to be eliminated. But he made it into the round of 12. People then turned their attention to Wallace’s teammate Tyler Reddick who was one of the best performers in the round of 16, winning the race in Kansas.

The mile-and-a-half track at Texas will suit the Toyotas that have been fairly strong on the intermediate tracks. All that’s left to do is execute, and that is what Bubba Wallace said he needs to do.
