How does one determine the popularity of Hollywood artists? Is it the number of awards that the artist has claimed under their belt or the number of followers on social media platforms? Well, there can be a plethora of answers, depending on the individual. However, it seems that the growing popularity can often have detrimental effects and can infuriate the masses. Well, the latest tweet by CARS Tour star Landon Huffman seems to assert that.
The latest topic of debate that has created a furor among the fans of the sporting world is the latest NFL game and the appearance of the Grammy Award winner, Taylor Swift, in the match. The artist seems to have landed in a ‘bad blood’ with a majority of the NFL fans, which also includes a majority of NASCAR insiders. As a result of the ongoing banter, the CARS Tour driver tried to settle the debate surrounding the broadcasting of Swift in between the matches with his example.

The Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park on Sunday was bursting with the loud cheering of the fans owing to the game between Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs. Amidst this loud cheering, Taylor Swift was on the edge of her seat in the luxury box, as she watched her boyfriend Tavis Kelce fight for the AFC Championship. While Kelce made the final touchdown, giving the team a 20-17 lead, the camera spanned across and portrayed the pop star in the box. This was not the first time that such an incident occurred.
This portrayal of the pop star while the match was still underway has been the source of endless bickering among the fans. Even the CARS Tour driver Landon Huffman expressed his disappointment regarding the constant showcasing of the ‘Anti-Hero’ singer in each Kansas City game. He tweeted, “I am so tired of seeing Taylor Swift on my tv during NFL football.” Replying to the tweet, a disgruntled fan wrote, “These takes confuse me to no end. She’s the most famous person in the world..”
The driver, instead of staying silent and putting an end to the comment, drew the analogy of Michael Jordan and his NASCAR team driver, Bubba Wallace, to settle the debate. Huffman replied, “That doesn’t warrant the camera being on her between every catch and touchdown. Do they show Michael Jordan on the pit box every time bubba makes a pass on track? No but if they did, don’t you think over the course of the broadcast, every week, it would get aggravating?”

Nevertheless, Huffman also asserted the fact that the tweet was not a hatred towards Taylor Swift in any sense but the overuse of Swift’s appearance on the camera during the Kansas City game.
While a section of NFL supporters seems to be livid with the constant broadcast appearance of Swift, there is a majority who is an avid supporter of the singer’s big screen appearances. One such being the former Cup Series driver Kenny Wallace.

The driver, who is marked with his unique sense of humor and eccentricism, did not shy away from channeling his inner Swifty mood. The driver, in a short clip on Twitter, bashed the haters and their critiquing of the singer’s appearance. He stated, “You say they showed Taylor Swift. I’m going to educate you on why they show Taylor Swift.”
“When you do TV, they have a production team. There’s a guy called the director. The director directs his people. They’ll say camera three, show Taylor Swift, and camera three goes to her. You have to go to the director and say why did you show Taylor Swift? Most likely, the director is going to say that there are eight people who like Taylor Swift, and there are only two that doesn’t like her. So the people that are doing the yapping are a very small majority but very loud.”
