It is no news that Jordan has got to investing more of his time on the NASCAR tracks. Regularly making an appearance to support his drivers and crews, the basketball star has been the perfect topman so far. Excitingly, Homestead-Miami got to witness the presence of the legend on its 1.5-mile track too. As the No.23 driver Wallace, who finished at P6, picked up his soda can to refresh himself after the hard work, Jordan let his appreciation be known by joining him at the pit road. Accompanying them from atop Wallace’s Camry was the purple McDonald’s mascot, Grimace.

Going to the intermediate track on Sunday, the No.23 car’s paint scheme was the talk of the stands. Cast in a flaming purple that paid homage to Grimace, the mascot of McDonaldland, the colors were the result of efforts from the sponsor’s marketing team. At the end of the 267 laps, Wallace made sure that he did proud to the character. Though the driver is not in contention for the championship right now, he had voiced his intentions that he will be looking to end the season on a high. The P6 that he secured was sure a step in that direction.
Putting up a video of Jordan and him chatting it up beside the Grimace-themed Camry, Wallace wrote on Instagram, “Great effort all day @23xiracing P6 @homesteadmiami”. The partnership between the No.23 car and McDonald’s was unveiled after an online poll that let fans choose the colours for the car. The leaderboard at the end of the day would have certainly made those involved glad.

Bubba Wallace is not pleased with his results despite a strong run
After a fantastic qualifying lap, the driver had secured P2 at the starting grid. Heading into the main race he had all the reason to expect a win but some quick misfortunes made him lose his way in the initial stages. Dropping near the 20s at the end of the first couple of stages, he made his way back in the final stage. An adventurous run that included some really great passes and brilliant efforts from his crew enabled him to finish the day not far back from his teammate Tyler Reddick (P3).
Talking to NBC Sports in the aftermath, he said, “Ooh, frustrating day, frustrating sixth place. But, proud of our effort today, that’s what it takes. Never give up. We just need to be better. (…) I thought our pit crew put us back in the game there today. Just not what we had for our No. 23 McDonald’s Grimace Toyota team, but all in all, a good result for sure.”

Finishing at P3, his teammate Reddick put himself in a comfortable position going to Martinsville. However, the job cannot be considered done till the flag flies at the end of the upcoming 500 laps. For now, Jordan has had a neat day at the field, thanks to Wallace, Reddick and undoubtedly, Grimace.
