Tyler Reddick’s run in the 2023 Cup Series season grabbed a lot of attention. With a sixth-placed finish, he ended the campaign on a high and certainly with lots of positives for 23XI Racing. However, what’s more amazing is how he’s in awe of both owners Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan.
In his first season with 23XI Racing, Reddick showed signs of progress almost immediately. With winners like Hamlin and Jordan around him, he has certainly learned a lot, and he spoke in detail about them recently.

Denny Hamlin may not have a Cup Series title to his name but his love for racing remains unbeatable. With his immense experience, the Joe Gibbs Racing veteran knows what it takes to win. Above all that, it is his relentless and dedicated approach that makes him stand out against the most.
Recently, Tyler Reddick attended the Door Bumper Clear podcast where he spoke candidly about his bosses Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan. Speaking about Hamlin, he said, “He is very included in everything that’s going on and he’s got great people at 23XI Racing to handle the different pieces of puzzle. He’s got people in places to do that stuff.”
To give an example of what he meant, Reddick said, “We had a production day yesterday with The Beast Unleashed and for the cars that we were gonna have next year. [Hamlin] popped in, seeing the car in person like he’s very tuned into what’s going on.”

Speaking about how helpful Hamlin has been on the track, Reddick shared his experience at Richmond this year. He said, “It’s been great to lean on him to get better at short tracks. It gave me a laugh, after Richmond he was kind of upset with how much he helped me there because he couldn’t pass me in the first stage. But I took care of myself by the end of the race.”
While he spoke highly about Hamlin, Reddick explained how Michael Jordan cares equally about the team. “Michael [Jordan] is very included in what’s going on. Michael may not be in Charlotte, North Carolina, or Mooresville every single day but he’s very locked in what’s going on.”

However, despite his admiration, Reddick couldn’t fathom how Hamlin has been balancing his time both as a driver and as a team owner. He said, “I have been really impressed with how much time and effort Denny puts into it and it’s hard. I don’t know how he does honestly being a driver and an owner.”
While Reddick spoke in favor of his bosses, he also sided with NASCAR regarding their new media rights deal.

It is no secret how the new media rights deal worth $7.7 billion has taken everyone’s breath away. While there are concerns over the different platforms the races will be telecasted/streamed on, Tyler Reddick likes NASCAR’s decision as it will encourage many newer fans to join in.
In his words, Reddick said, “I think the real die-hard fans, right? They are locked in and they are gonna know where to find every single thing. […] I am kind of spot on, I am optimistic about it. It might open the door for a lot more people to have access to it. It’s a pretty big deal so I don’t think NASCAR would do it if they couldn’t give people access to it.”

While the subscription cost is worth looking into, Reddick isn’t entirely wrong. Having said that, if a driver feels in this fashion, it is likely to motivate more fans to improve the viewership. Without a doubt, NASCAR would be hoping that this deal does wonders for the sport.
