NASCAR Gander & RV Truck Series driver, Natalie Decker was forced to withdraw just before the Truck Series race on Friday. Back in December 2019, she underwent surgery to remove her gallbladder. Although she managed to make a complete recovery her appearances remained sporadic.

Unfortunately, difficulties arose, and she encountered bile duct complexities. As a result, her recovery took a lot longer than expected. The good news was that she was well enough to turn up to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

As expected, she headed straight to the medical center to seek clearance to race. Her #44 truck was all set to run on the track.

What happened to Natalie Decker?

Unfortunately, the medical staff did not feel that she was fully fit to race. So the 23-year-old was forced to pull out mere minutes from the start of the race and was classified as a non-starter.

She tweeted, “I know you are all wondering what happened and what is going on. We are boarding soon to get back home where there will be more tests run so they can further evaluate and diagnose.

“I will let you know as soon as that is complete. Thank you for all your prayers and support.”

Natalie Decker has been racing on and off in the Gander & RV Truck Series and took part in the race at Bristol. She clearly has talent, as she recorded a 5th place finish at the 2020 Daytona 250.

Unfortunately, her medical condition has wreaked havoc on her 2020 season, forcing her to miss out on quite a few races. It is worth noting that her fifth-place finish is the highest finish by a female driver in the history of the Truck Series.

In all, Natalie Decker missed at least six races, out of which three came at a stretch. She missed races at Atlanta, Homestead, Pocono, Michigan, Dover, and Darlington.

Now, this race at Las Vegas makes it the 7th race that saw Decker on the sidelines. Hopefully, for her and her fans’ sakes, she fully recovers and sees the Truck Series season through to the end.
