Earlier, news broke that Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be back behind the wheel once again. This time around, he will be racing at the Florence Motor Speedway in South Carolina in a Late Model race.
Naturally, a large number of fans were thrilled to see the NASCAR icon back in action. In light of this, NASCAR’s richest-ever driver spoke about the decision and revealed the reason why he was racing there. But before be dive into that, let’s take a look at his last outing in a Late Model car.

He said, “I don’t know if it has to be said or anything, but I don’t have a PSA or any Personal Service Agreement with anybody. There is no backdoor fee coming to me for any of this. I don’t want anybody to think that I’m kind of gouging or getting anything in my pocket now, down the road.”
“This is basically just to go have some fun, try to do something great for Florence, which has done so many great things for me personally. I had so many amazing experience there, back in the 90s, I raced there in 94, 95, 96, multiple races.”

“Been looking forward to an opportunity – I always said I was going to go back race in the Late Models once I got done driving full-time in the Cup Series. So here we are, its really happening.”

What lies ahead in the future for Dale Earnhardt Jr?
Safe to say, the former Daytona 500 winner and $300 million worth Dale Jr. has been very active in the racing scene. Earlier, he played a key role in revamping the North Wilkesboro Speedway, which was one of his biggest projects.
Thanks to his efforts, the iconic speedway will soon return to the NASCAR calendar for the 2023 season. In fact, as you saw in the YouTube video above, the newly revamped speedway had its first race in a long time and Dale Jr was one of the participants.

Now, he will be back behind the wheel at Florence Motor Speedway, which is another special track for him as he has a lot of history with the track. So it isn’t surprising that he wants to rewind the clock and compete there once again.
