At the start of this year, Dale Earnhardt Jr and his wife, Amy, launched their own Vodka brand, High Rock Vodka. And Junior is known as quite the lover of good alcohol, it just made sense! And just like every business, he wanted to send some free samples to friends and popular people to get more reach. But things took a U-turn when he got to Post Malone.

Dale Jr ended up having to convince a random person to take some vodka from him, and prove that he isn’t a scammer.

We all know Post Malone. He has become quite the icon of popular culture and music. But what many might not know is he’s quite a fan of NASCAR, and close to all the drivers. In fact, Denny Hamlin and Bubba Wallace even popped up in one of his music videos for his song “Motley Crew”.

Earnhardt Jr is one of the many people he’s familiar with in the NASCAR sphere. So, naturally, when the Hall of Famer launched his vodka brand, he wanted the pop icon to be one of the first few people to get some. Unfortunately for Dale, and fortunately for us, he got the number wrong, and made for quite a hilarious story for all his fans.

Junior tweeted, “Sent Post Malone a text to ship him some High Rock Vodka. Not his number anymore. Now trying to convince a total stranger to accept a bottle and that I’m not scamming them.”

Everything worked out in the end because he found Post Malone’s number and sent him some High Rock as he updated, Update: Got Post’s new digits. Also got a bottle of @HighRockVodka going to Post Post Malone. Also working on ideas for how to surprise other total strangers who support High Rocks social channels with Vodka.”

Why did Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife start a vodka brand?

Well, turns out, his idea for starting the brand is not that closely linked to his love for partying and alcohol. In fact, it’s about future planning.

Earnhardt Jr, explained, “Amy and I want to build businesses we can pass on to our kids,”, and “So while we had a lot of conversations over the years about doing something together, we were very patient.”
