In case you were wondering which movie Chase Elliott is going to watch before the Coca-Cola 600, the man himself has answered. But not exactly. The current heir of the Most Popular Driver position in NASCAR recently ‘suggested’ the blockbuster he’s either going to watch or has watched and liked.
The movie is, of course, Top Gun: Maverick, the sequel to the iconic flick from the 80s starring inarguably the biggest superstar in the world, Tom Cruise.
Elliott simply posted a GIF on his Twitter account of Cruise putting on his iconic sunglasses from the first film. In fact, one can even argue that the Hendrick Motorsports driver got the inspiration for his own choice of sunglasses from Cruise’s character in the movie.

Chase Elliott on what blew him away about former Hendrick Motorsports superstar
Recently, Chase Elliott spoke about the one thing that not only he found as the difference between him and seven-time Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson but also the thing that blew him away about the INDY500 hopeful.
“Early on when I started to sit in meetings and listen to him talk, I’d be sitting in a corner and I’m like, I feel this sensation and I wanna explain it but I have this long-winded answer that just is too complicated for anyone to understand,” Elliott said.
“And then it’s Jimmie’s turn and he’s like hey this is the exact sensation I’m feeling that. He can just put it such simple terms and I’m like alright you need to go first every week. Because it was amazing, it was something that really blew me away”.

Anyway, this week, Chase Elliott will be in action in Charlotte. NASCAR’s Top Gun is already the leader in points so far this season and he’d love to get his second win of the season.
Do you think he will be able to do so?
