In recent days, NASCAR has witnessed quite a lot of controversies, and the Appeals Panel has certainly dropped some bombs. While the panel excused Hendrick Motorsports and reinstated the deducted points, not everyone was shown the same leniency, especially Denny Hamlin.
The NASCAR community was in for a shock as the appeals panel decided to uphold all penalties despite Hamlin’s appeal. This started yet another debate in the community, and joining the party is Kyle Busch, who in a recent interview bashed the league for its contradicting rules and norms.
The “bad boy” of NASCAR did not let this one slide, he expressed his displeasure with the organization and revealed his take on Hamlin’s appeal and how things turned out for him. Speaking to the press at the pre-race interview in Bristol Motor Speedway, Busch explained the ever-present double standard in the league, and also the self-contradictory rules of the sport.

Kyle Busch doubles down on NASCAR for its apparent double standards
This week, Kyle Busch too had to contend with the ongoing penalty frenzy in NASCAR, with the sanctioning body penalizing his NASCAR Truck Series team (KBM) 10 points for a violation regarding engine oil reservoir tanks.
Despite the authority going after his team, Rowdy hasn’t let this slide as he voiced his concerns without mincing words.
During the pre-race press conference, a reporter asked him about the recent happenings in NASCAR and the clarity of these decisions, “Do you think that will help at all with any transparency?”
Kyle has a simple take on the matter, “No!” he said, “I dont believe so, uh I’m actually kind of surprised on the whole Denny deal, I feel like a lot of that is, uh just if you he did a really good job of explaining it, I listened to his podcast of this week.”
While complimenting his former teammate at Joe Gibbs Racing, Kyle also reflected on his experience with these appeals and explained the ground reality of things.
“I mean I’ve been through some of these appeals and um you think you’ve done a good job selling your case and and they actually kind of back down on the other side and so think you’ve got a really good shot of getting something reversed or overturned and then it just completely sideswipes you that it doesn’t happen that way,” he said.
Rowdy didn’t stop there, mentioning the contradictory rules and the evident irony, he returned a question, “I have no clue how that uh that is a penalty uh when in the rule book if you basically get into somebody or wreck somebody then it can be a penalty of any sort that they want to enforce on you or infringe on you so at the Clash, how come Joey Logano wasn’t penalized for wiping me out?”
