Earlier this month, NASCAR gave the fans a reason to cheer after the images of the newly repaved North Wilkesboro Speedway were shared on social media. However, good vibes did not last long. NASCAR’s attempt to hype the upcoming Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum has triggered massive backlash from the community.

NASCAR shared a hyper-lapse video on X, showcasing the reworking of the track from scratch. Regardless of their efforts to woo the fans, their revelation didn’t sit well, and the community wasted no time in expressing their true feelings about the event.

Since 2022, NASCAR has opted for the LA Memorial Coliseum to hold the preseason NASCAR Cup Series exhibition race. But that has not sat well with a larger portion of the community. In a bid to impress the motorsport community once again, the official page of NASCAR shared a video with fans and captioned, “Let’s do this again soon, shall we?”

Little did they know their attempt to channel fans’ enthusiasm would brutally backfire. The fans were very disappointed and called out the management for doing away with tradition. Before 2022, the Busch Light Clash At The Coliseum used to take place at the Daytona International Speedway. On September 14, 2021, the displeasing decision to move the exhibition race to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was announced, which has disturbed the fans ever since.

The moment NASCAR shared the video and popped up the question about doing “this again,” fans flooded the comments section, demanding the traditional days back.

Not all decisions by the organization are received well by the fanbase. But the decision to move The Clash to the LA Coliseum has garnered a kind of flak not usually seen. Calling the event a disappointment for long-time fans, a user shared:

A couple of fans expressed their frustration and wrote, “Just put the clash back at Daytona where it belongs”; “Clash belongs In Daytona.”
Another fan took a jibe and asked to bring back the good old days and commented, “Or we could put some tradition back in our sport and go back to Daytona for the clash….”speed weeks” is now “speed couple of days.” “
