In NASCAR, there are times when things get very heated between drivers. Most of the time, it just escalates to angry words and the occasional punch. However, in the lower echelons of racing, there have been times when the situations were far nastier. Earlier this weekend, a race at the Bowman Gray Stadium proved the point when a brawl unfolded. At that time, NASCAR Xfinity driver Ryan Vargas was commentating and going nuts when the incident happened.

It got so bad that the officials had to be scrambled onto the scene to separate the two brawlers. It was like something out of a WWE show, and not a very good look for the sport as a whole.

Vargas and his co-commentators noticed the arrival of law enforcement officials to try and break up the fight. He said, “Oh my God! They just got out of the car and started slamming each other. The #7 team, they’re the only cars running. Guy in the red throws his helmet… lots of animosity, lots of anger. There’s a NASCAR official heading over there now.”

While all the shenanigans were going on, the sole-surviving competitors out on track, calmly went and won the race. They went unchallenged because everyone else was either out of the race or got blocked by the brawling drivers.

Naturally, since law enforcement was involved, there were people getting handcuffed. The scene was quite disruptive and many will be praying that the situation has cooled down. Hopefully, such a situation does not happen in NASCAR, as they are a lot more professional.
