It’s not just the picturesque surroundings of Glen that will keep fans on the edge of their seats this weekend; the pulse-quickening possibility of Ford securing a fourth straight win in NASCAR Cup has stirred the pot. And while Ford’s domination in recent weeks is unmistakable, this weekend’s race might not be a simple manufacturer’s show. With RFK and Front Row’s recent spotlight-stealing, the question of which Ford driver will bask in the glory remains.
But will Ford’s powerhouses clinch their fourth consecutive win this weekend at Watkins Glen? Racing experts are gearing up for a high-octane contest, and all eyes are on Ford favorites, especially after a sizzling three-win streak.

During the recent NASCAR Motorsports broadcast on NBC, the spotlight was undoubtedly on Michael McDowell and Chris Buescher. “If Ford is looking to go four in a row, which driver accomplishes that feat this weekend of The Glen?” asked commentator Kim Coon.
NASCAR veteran Kyle Petty stated, “You know what? I’m going to say RFK. I’m going to go back to RFK. Although, God, man, what if Michael McDowell went two in a row, man that just that turns the world upside down and he can go two in a row. I don’t think we need to take him out of the equation. He can go to in a row because this is one of those places.”
“This is a little bit faster Road course, It’s a little bit different type of Road course. It fits Brad K to a T and we’ve seen him in the mix a million times and if you go to RFK and you see how he has run at Watkins Glen, you see how Buescher runs there. I think, those three guys are still Ford’s hope.”
“I’ll throw send Cindric again as the fourth guy. But you know even though Joey’s won there, we look at Blaney. I don’t think about Blaney being a road course racer and I don’t think about anybody that that Stewart Haas Racing has as a road course racing. So this stay just strictly in the Ford tank camp. I would say that that is front row is RFK and maybe I’ll throw center camp.”
Petty stunned listeners when he sidelined Tony Stewart’s Stewart Haas Racing from his list of top Fords for the race. The omission suggests the iconic Ford might not be in the limelight this weekend.

Chris Buescher isn’t just in the shadows, waiting. Having displayed strong performances on road courses, Buescher is a solid contender, potentially Ford’s ace in the hole for this race. “I would probably put Michael McDowell one and put Chris Buescher 2,” affirmed Dustin Long, another voice of reason from NBC’s panel who echoed Petty’s words.
Austin Cindric, with his established road course history, shouldn’t be counted out, despite a less-than-stellar season. One top ten in the last 18 races paints a stark picture, but as Dustin Long suggests, The Glen might just be the spot for Cindric to “pick things up and change things and maybe pull out a win to get to to make the playoffs .” A win here could be a game-changer, propelling him into the playoffs.
