The past race at the iconic Indy road course certainly wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Especially for the 2-time Cup Series champion, Kyle Busch, who in 2 consecutive weeks has finished at the bottom. While the Richard Childress Racing equipment along with some bad luck has turned his day around for the worse both at Michigan and Indy, his accolades and accomplishments stand tall.

That’s what KB fans think, but that is not the case with NASCAR veteran and popular dirt fanatic. Instead, the former NASCAR driver feels like the older Busch is far greater in terms of talent behind the wheel. Speaking to the community on his popular show, he did not shy away from shrugging off Busch’s achievements with a simple example.

Kenny Wallace, the former NASCAR driver, needs no formal introduction to ardent NASCAR fans. His outspoken attitude combined with his charismatic personality has made him quite a popular figure in NASCAR, even after his retirement in 2015, after a career spanning close to 25 years.

Now coming to the recent happenings, Michael McDowell racked up the win after a tight battle with HMS ace Chase Elliott. After the race the precedence was on his teammate, Kyle Larson, who unveiled his ride for the much anticipated “Double” next year, attempting to win it all.

While the great Tony Stewart gave his best shot, finishing 6th at Indy500 and coming close to the gold, Larson will be the latest in the list from NASCAR to attempt the crown jewel achievement much like Kyle Busch’s older brother, Kurt Busch. With that being said, Kenny Wallace on his The Kenny Wallace Show got real about the older Busch’s shot at glory, subtly dismissing “Rowdy” Busch’s achievements as he highlighted his brother’s talent.

You look at Kurt Busch ran 6th in the Indianapolis 600, Kurt Busch not Kyle, Kurt Busch is a hell of a talent, not to geek, Kurt I don’t you’ll ever be forgotten. Monster Energy drink must be sliding a lot of money because he’s wearing Monster Energy stuff all the time and he’s at every race track so Kurt Busch did the double but his Coke 600 didn’t go that good,” said the veteran with no second thoughts as he popped a quick jab at RCR driver.

Let’s be honest here, the NASCAR nation is really divided on this one. While hardcore and older fans of the sport prefer the good old traditional ovals that made NASCAR what it is today, the younger generation is all in on the organization, incorporating more road/street courses.

Though everything is bound to time and change, the organization’s decision to replace the older Indy oval track with a modern Indycar-inspired 2.5-mile 14-turn road course certainly has enraged a lot of purists and old-school fans. And it’s no secret in NASCAR nation with fans making it public on social media and other platforms.

Following the road race, 2-time champ and arguably one of the best drivers in the sport right, Kyle Busch too sided with traditionalists on this one, saying, “But you know, if I’m being selfish, I think many of us drivers, crews and everything else, we’d rather be coming here and racing around the oval with the prestige and the history of what the oval is.”

While the “bad boy” says he enjoyed the double race weekend with Indycar and NASCAR putting their best products for the fans out there. Busch then embraced the “Rowdy” self in him as he concluded his take with a simple yet profound statement. He said, “Even though we’re at Indy, it just doesn’t really feel like it’s the same thing going the wrong way.
