For the 2023 NASCAR Cup season, Kyle Busch will be racing in brand-new colors and with a new team. After spending several years with Joe Gibbs Racing, Busch has jumped ship to Richard Childress Racing. All in all, this will be new territory for the 2-time Cup Series champion. It is also worth mentioning that when the season kicks off, Busch will be piloting the #8 car, and everyone expects big things from him. This was the number that Dale Earnhardt Jr. drove when he raced for Dale Earnhardt Inc. During that tenure, he snatched 17 of his 26 Cup Series wins.

Now, Kyle Busch will be aiming to emulate the former NASCAR driver and current commentator. Recently, ex-NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer spoke about what lies ahead for Busch. He told Race Hub, “I think this man is exactly headed in the direction he needs to be going. Richard Childress, he won three races last year, but you ain’t had a champion. I think putting Kyle Busch in this car is the Dale Earnhardt driving style that he’s used to having behind the wheel. Now if they can keep their watches on, and get through the end of the year. I think they’re going to be a force to be reckoned with. We’re going to see a lot of Kyle Busch and Richard Childress.”

Can Kyle Busch deliver for Richard Childress Racing?

Truthfully speaking, he definitely has the capability to bring glory to the team. Additionally, he brings a wealth of experience, and he is a 2-time Cup Series champion. Without a doubt, a driver of his caliber will be a great asset to the team, and Austin Dillon can learn a lot from him. On the other end of the scale, Kyle Busch is on the hunt for a new challenge, and hopefully, RCR can give him that.
