With the 2024 Daytona Speedweek keeping the NASCAR world engrossed with the season openers, all eyes were on the Daytona International Speedway. But that would all change for Chris Buescher after the moment of a lifetime worth witnessing presented itself just a few days before the Great American Race.
Buescher had to pull out of the Daytona Speedweek right after the Bluegreen Vacations Duels to be by the side of his wife, Emma Buescher. While the prospect of missing one of the biggest race weekends was certainly not ideal, the happiness and joy of the Buescher family on the big occasion was certainly more than enough to make up for it!
Despite earlier fears of missing the Daytona 500, it was all smiles at the Buescher household!

During the Bluegreen Vacations Duel 1, Chris Buescher was looking promising after locking out his starting position for the Daytona 500 in tenth. While RFK Racing fans were satisfied with the placement, that would all change after the team revealed on X that Buescher had returned home following the qualifying to be with his wife, Emma, and daughter Charley, for the birth of their second child.
Meanwhile, David Ragan, who subbed for Buescher in practice running limited laps in the #17 Fastenal Ford on Friday, will be starting the main event from the 40th spot. Whilst the team release stated that Buescher “will return Sunday morning ahead of the Daytona 500,” many of the community were waiting in anticipation for good news from the Buescher family. But fortunately, Buescher revealed the good news to rid fans of their anxiety and trigger celebrations all across the community.
“I’m so proud and thankful for you Emma.” Buescher stated on X, “I know the timing was not ideal but coming back home to our beautiful little boy was so special. You have blessed us yet again with a happy, healthy baby. To everyone else, thank you for all the kind words and well wishes for our family. Thank you to our team for working to get me home on short notice to spend this time with family, and back to the track in time to win another Daytona race.”

Now that Chris Buescher has successfully made it back home in time, the RFK Racing star is set to be back at the Daytona International Speedway well in time for the Great American Race.

In the Tweet that Chris Buescher had put out on X, his wife, Emma Buescher, could be seen cradling their newborn in wholesome photos that caused the community to join in on the celebrations. Xfinity Series driver Kyle Weatherman was amongst the first to congratulate the family, “Congrats Chris and Emma”, while RFK Racing’s official handle also tweeted, “We love having more Bueschers in the world. 🌎 Congrats, Chris & Emma!”

The fans were also equally ecstatic with the new addition to the Buescher family. Users joined in to share, “Congrats to the Buescher family! He’s got something to race for Sunday!” Whilst others were also expecting Buescher to deliver a brilliant result at the 500 to commemorate his son’s birth.
