Frankie Muniz’s racing career is hanging by a thread. With the 2024 NASCAR season closing in, his next destination in NASCAR is one of the most exciting questions within the community. The Malcolm in the Middle actor began his racing career on a great note. Racing in the ARCA Menards Series for Rette Jones Racing, Muniz finished 2023 with a P4 finish in the final standings.
With his future in racing in question, Frankie Muniz has not had any concerns over it. Instead, he is confident of racing in NASCAR in 2024 and has recently affirmed his intentions on Twitter. Replying to The Daily Downforce’s inquiry about information regarding his future in NASCAR, Muniz used brevity to his best and had just one word to dismiss the speculations.

In a recent post on its ‘X’ handle, The Daily Downforce asked, “Will we hear from Frankie Muniz before Daytona?” Replying to the question, Frankie Muniz simply replied, “Yes.” Returning to racing after over a decade, the 37-year-old has no plans to leave his dream profession anytime soon. Muniz has competed in Indy NXT as a full-time driver from 2007 to 2009 and isn’t new to the concept of speeding cars either.
Having recorded 11 top-10s and one top-5 in 2023, most fans expected his dream run to continue. One of the speculated outcomes is an upgrade to one of the national tourneys of NASCAR. With his popularity not in doubt, fans believe he’d be a great fit in the Xfinity Series or the Truck Series.

In December 2023, Frankie Muniz laid a clue for the fans about his future in NASCAR. He changed his Instagram bio to, “2024 NASCAR plans are being announced soon.” While his bio has changed since then, the plan hasn’t. If Muniz’s answer on Twitter is anything to go by, a big announcement seems imminent but closer to the season’s kickoff at the LA Coliseum.

In the latter months of 2023, Frankie Muniz was heavily linked with a move to a part-time role for RSS Racing in the Xfinity Series. A jump from ARCA Menards to Xfinity would have significantly boosted the actor-turned-racer’s career. However, he classified the rumors about the move as nothing substantial and kept his cards a secret from fans.
Before dismissing the RSS Racing speculations, Frankie Muniz had shared his goals with Beyond the Flag in an interview. Speaking about the confidentiality, Muniz revealed, “I will be racing full-time next season. I wish I could share where I’ll be racing, but we’ll be making the announcement soon! I think everyone will be pretty shocked.”

“I’ll be moving up to a bigger series with tougher competition, and I know I still have a lot to learn, but in that same sense, I’m ready to move up and prove that I can be a contender. As a racer, you are never satisfied unless you are winning, but I’ll take the small victories of the goals we set throughout the season.”
Loaded with talent, Frankie Muniz’s career boat only needs one thing: time. Already 37, he doesn’t have enough time to undergo the gradual process a youngster goes through to move from grassroots to the Cup Series. Disclosing his aspirations, the star said, “Cup is definitely my goal.”

“I think that’s everyone’s dream, but I also know I’m pretty old to be getting into the sport. At 37, I don’t have 15 years to perfect my craft to get to Cup. I have to show I belong right away, and the only way to do that is to have results now.”
Returning to racing and proving his mettle has been a great start for Frankie Muniz’s revamped racing career. A move to NASCAR doesn’t just fulfill his dream; it will also attract more eyes to his performances. If everything goes as planned, a Cup Series stint could come calling. However, criticism isn’t too far away from success in NASCAR.
