Indeed, NASCAR spells entertainment for many of its ardent fans. While the passion for the sport, the racing spirit, or even the sport itself has a major impact on its huge fanbase, it’s actually the drivers and their unique individual characters that add a layer of intrigue on top of an already exciting package.

And coming to the present scenario, 23Xl Racing‘s Bubba Wallace still is at the receiving end. While the driver has picked up the pace by dishing out consistent performances, it’s the driver’s personality that comes out as a dual-edged sword often acting against the driver.

Recently, after a rather uneventful All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro, fellow NASCAR driver and promising young prospect had to jump in as he took on fans while he defended the 31-year-old furiously.

NASCAR driver goes on the offensive as he lays out the cover fire for Bubba Wallace

Despite being a charmer and a local Alabama native, Wallace over the years has earned quite a number of haters so to speak. While it may be the driver’s attitude and personality that ticks off many fans, the recent incident at North Wilkesboro indicates something even beyond that.

Even with consistent performances, the driver is still facing rampant hate along with the occasional slurs. The driver who was once seen as a powerful symbol during the political unrest in the country, especially during the “Black lives matter” campaign is now a walking troll for many nay-sayers as they proclaim talent over privilege.

Recently, NASCAR Truck Series driver, Rajah Caruth boldly defended Wallace who was caught by the so-called haters and sayers. Replying to Grammy-nominated musician and songwriter, Drew Parker’s tweet that said, “I’ll seriously never understand the hate for Bubba Wallace.”

Caruth had a rather simple yet profound tweet in response. The tweet that read, “Nothing new 4 us” had a vivid explanation to it. Even as the young driver faced oncoming fire from fans for defending Wallace using exactly the same victim card that Wallace allegedly uses, the GMS Racing driver stood his ground.

Even as he faced an overwhelming number of replies and comments, the #24 driver showed how the simplest of indifference can have a profound effect in a sport largely confined to the southern part of the country.

While Wallace is often at the other end of the spectrum, purist fans have argued from time to time that it’s the driver’s talent behind the wheel that matters in a race, not his privilege or identity. Overshadowed by hate, a serious incident involving Wallace during the conclusion of the All-Star race has flown right under the radar.

Even as fans argue about the young driver’s tweet, NWB’s radio incident has gone unnoticed!

Despite there being countless allegations revolving around Bubba Wallace and his infamous scandal row, the 31-year-old driver is certainly a unique personality. If it’s the driver’s lackluster outings that have caused these backlashes, then the community definitely needs to have a closer look at things as the late incident at North Wilkesboro showcases something deeper and unsettling.

Just after Wallace finished the race, coming home the second only behind the winner Kyle Larson, someone keyed into the 23Xl Racing’s radio channel to blurt out a derogatory at the #23 driver. As per Motorsport.com, the insult was, “Go back to where you came from you a******. You’re not wanted in NASCAR,”

Now with this incident slowly making its way into the limelight, Rajah Caruth’s post certainly had something relevant to point out to the community as the late-race incident just goes off to show how the race game is still relevant at such a time.

While some fans settled their differences online, others are taking things up a bit.

Even as some fans identified the problem, others elaborated on their hate of Wallace.

That’s not always the answer to the question bud. Admittedly and unfortunately it is for some but in my opinion, for the majority of fans, attitude and personality are the determining factors in whether you are a fan of someone or not. At least that’s my criteria.”
