Earlier this week, the Cup race at Talladega wrapped up with Ross Chastain winning. The Trackhouse Racing driver overcame a frantic finish to somehow squeak into a victory. However, it appeared that this race finish rubbed some people the wrong way, particularly NASCAR spotter Brett Griffin.
Griffin said, “I hate to say this, man! I love Talladega. That race at the end became a game of chance over a game of skill. It’s because of the way the cars race. I was not impressed with that package at that race track. I thought it was going to be a 10 out of 10, and for me it was not.”

According to Petty, the racing is great at tracks that are fairly long, and superspeedway size. He even cited the example of the Atlanta Motor Speedway, which he firmly believed, produced some great racing.
