Martin Truex Jr is a fan favorite, having won three of the last five races there. He’s tearing up the track this season with an average finish of 11.9, tying for third in the series. Hot on his heels are Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson, with Ty Gibbs and William Byron also showing some decent stats.

Keep an eye on Daniel Suarez, too. He’s a long shot according to the odds, but after his first career Cup win at Sonoma in 2022, he’s got a soft spot for this track. A win here could be his golden ticket to the playoffs, especially after a big win in Atlanta.

Don’t count out Chris Buescher either; he’s been solid on road courses. With the top five finishes in both Next Gen car races at Sonoma and the best road course average this season, he’s a savvy bet.

And let’s not overlook Michael McDowell, who’s shown he can handle Sonoma with an impressive average finish of 5.0 in his last two races here. Plus, Chase Elliott, with seven road course wins under his belt, could be a serious contender.
