Convenience store chain Buc-ee’s is looking to expand its border and has narrowed on potential locations near Kansas City. Established in 1982, the convenience store giant opened their first mega-store in Springfield. And, according to a report by the Kansas City Star, they have already submitted site plans for their new location.

The 57-acre plot is owned by Kansas Speedway and NASCAR. Therefore any potential deal would see, the stock car racing body collaborating with Buc-ee’s which has already seen huge success with its first venture. Despite the early chatters and move, Buc-ee’s officials have refrained from commenting on their plans. But, what’s so special about convenience store chain that has garnered them a fandom in such a short time? Let us find out.

Buc-ee’s more than just a convenience store

All the Buc-ee’s centers include 80 to 120 gas pumps that offer a range of fuel selections. There are select locations where pumps have ethanol-free fuel and diesel exhaust fluid as well. The chain in particular is keen on offering unique experiences through its large locations. They also hold the record for the world’s largest gas station in Sevierville, Tennessee location.

However, they have redefined the experience for its consumers and are more than just a gas station convenience store. They offer a variety of snacking options that include brisket egg tacos, Beaver nuggets, pecan cinnamon roll crunch popcorn, and yoghurt-dipped pretzels. These options have become a huge hit for the chain and people travel hundreds of miles just to experience the store and it’s services.

Buc-ee’s is reportedly worth somewhere around $2 billion and given their expansion drive, this number is only going to surge in the near future. However, it is important to note that they haven’t yet gone public and have stuck to their traditional business practice. Given the Springfield, location has been a huge hit, a potential partnership with NASCAR could well be on the cards with their Kansas project.

Given the development of such a project is in the nascent stages, it could take a while for the city officials to take up the plan. Moreover, with land owned by the Kansas Speedway, it will be interesting on what grounds the two parties strike a deal to open a new Buc-ee’s megastore.
