The 2022 NASCAR Cup season is just around the corner and the hype is steadily building. With just a couple of weeks left until the first race at the LA Coliseum, advertisements have already begun. Recently, Fox Sports aired a snippet of a new TV spot for the LA Coliseum race that will commence on February 6th. That promotion will drop during the NFL playoff game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
.@FoxSports will debut this new spot hyping up the start of the NASCAR season during tomorrow's Eagles-Buccaneers NFL playoff game on @FoxTV.

A voiceover accompanied the footage of a few NASCAR Cup drivers walking through the entrance of the stadium. The drivers were Bubba Wallace, Joey Logano, Kyle Busch, and Kyle Larson. Immediately after that, the TV spot announced the return of the ‘Great American Race’, the Daytona 500 on February 20th. On an interesting note, reports suggest that Fox Sports is adopting a race-by-race approach to marketing the sport.
Why is NASCAR using this NFL game to promote the race?
It is also worth mentioning that the Buccaneers and Eagles game will be an important clash. From a marketing perspective, it is a brilliant tactic because it’s a Playoff game, and Tom Brady is a massive crowd-puller. With the NFL being one of the most popular sports leagues in America, what better way to promote NASCAR than to enlist the aid of an important NFL game?

Whether this tactic will work or not, is a different story altogether. Safe to say, NASCAR is going all out to promote the inaugural LA Coliseum Cup race. What makes this all the more exciting is that this new track will be the first to receive the Next Gen cars. Admittedly, there have been a few concerns among the drivers and fans regarding the size of the track. The fans, in particular, are concerned that the Coliseum could be too small for the Cup Series cars.
