After a few days of unveiling the viral new sponsor, Brandon Brown has been told to consider his other options by NASCAR. Brown, who embraced the politically controversial and unfair chants of “Let’s go Brandon” that attacked him for no reason, had decided to use a Crypto meme sponsor called ‘LGBCoin.’
However, as soon as he made this announcement, not only did his new sponsorship go viral but there were reports that he ‘jumped the gun‘.
This is to say that Brown didn’t take approval from NASCAR. Should they find it ‘illegal‘, or in violation of any regulations, NASCAR could deny Brown of this sponsorship. This is exactly what happened.

Journalist Bob Pockrass said, “NASCAR has made the final decision that the LGBcoin sponsorship for Brandon Brown is not an approved sponsorship to be on the car.”

In fact, this whole ‘saga’ has become full of confusion from all the parties. To put it simply, Brown and his side say they did ask for approval and got it from NASCAR. While NASCAR says they didn’t give approval.
Pockrass speculates, “Application listed it as cryptocurrency & racing ops person who OKs schemes, trying to help over holidays, didn’t realize theme & need to check w/superiors.”
This could very well have been the case since no team would go ahead with any sponsor, let alone with this background and context.

However, if we ask the question, ‘Who has more to lose?‘, then it’s undoubtedly Brandon Brown who has higher stakes involved.
With just over a couple of months remaining the next season, Brown may find himself without a full-season sponsorship – something his team hasn’t had for many years. To add to that, it’s likely that no team would like to associate themselves with the driver after this whole saga.
