Recently, NASCAR made an official announcement that it is all set to make its international debut in 2025 in Mexico. This news was well received by fans who even celebrated the progress of NASCAR. However, It wouldn’t be wrong to say that out of all the places in the world that could host NASCAR for its international entry, Saudi Arabia isn’t the one that fans would have expected. The speculations started after Saudi Arabia launched the Qiddiya Speed Park. This was launched earlier this year in March and costs more than half a billion.

Why was it launched after all? Rumor has it that this particular track is not only for F1 but to accommodate all different genres of motorsports. Speculations suggest that NASCAR might be one of them. What adds fuel to this rumor is the suspected movement of stock cars to the Qiddiya Speed Park by NASCAR. A recent social media post has come to light which has suggested this movement of stock cars. Till now there has not been any official announcement. However, transportation of stock cars and that too cross country should certainly be for a reason! Now that the track is ready and cars are being lifted and transported, the rumors could be proven to be true anytime soon. There is no doubt that this step is indeed huge for the world of stock car racing. But fans have not accepted this rumor with grace and there have been all kinds of speculations making rounds on social media. Reacting to this news, a fan said, “I cant see that going over well with most of the fan base. I wouldn’t be for it but admittedly I would still watch it. I think there are better places overseas we could showcase NASCAR”. There have been major discussion sessions over Reddit which have hinted fans are highly disappointed with this move.
Fans have also brought forth a humorous take on the entire Saudi Arabia entry fiasco. Keeping in mind how much NASCAR fans love Denny Hamlin, one comment read, “We got a NASCAR race in Saudi Arabia before Denny Hamlin won a championship”. Now that NASCAR might be making an entry, Indycar fans are contemplating the same. Given that the Qiddiya Speed Park is suited for multiple motorsports, a fan questioned, “Indycar in the picture?”. It has also got fans speculating about when NASCAR is making new strides, and why is it only Saudi Arabia in the probability. Putting forth a suggestion, a fan said, “Saudi Arabia 😭 why not Qatar or turkey or Armenia those be cooler places”. Just like most of us, some fans have simply been wondering “why there of all places”? As of now, NASCAR has officially declined any news of setting foot into the Saudi Arabian market. While fans can speculate the ifs and buts, the official announcement is yet to be done. Till then, the only international ground NASCAR will be appearing at is Mexico!
