The 2025 NASCAR season has not even started. Yet the anticipation level about the brand new silly season is no less. A major reason for that is the sponsor movement. Recently, Denny Hamlin has suffered the loss of two major sponsors – FedEx and Mavis Tires. No official announcements have rolled out, and yet the community is well aware due to hawk-eyed fans keeping an eye out for fresh updates.
Now another update is looming in the shadows. Chase Briscoe is looking forward to a fresh chapter in his Cup Series career with Joe Gibbs Racing. But as he takes 2017 Cup Series champion Martin Truex Jr.’s place, an old sponsor is not with him. In fact, fans are worried about this sponsor’s presence in the sport.
Is NASCAR on the brink of losing another brand?

Ever since the sport was unveiled in 1949, sponsors have been its bedrock. NASCAR racers can pursue their passion due to interested investors. However, recent years have marked a significant economic dilemma, that Stewart-Haas Racing faced. Back in 2023, the team lost a slew of sponsors. Busch Light left to sponsor Ross Chastain’s No. 1 Chevrolet. After Aric Almirola retired from the Cup Series, Smithfield left NASCAR entirely. This permanent departure is what fans now fear for Mahindra Tractors due to a recent piece of evidence.
The automotive tractor company has sponsored Chase Briscoe at SHR since 2022. They achieved several milestones together – 7 top-fives, 13 top-ten finishes besides 2 Cup Series race victories. However, since the No. 19 JGR car is still tied with Bass Pro Shops, Mahindra will no longer be there. Briscoe confirmed that recently. But what is more startling is the glaring absence of Mahindra Tractors anywhere in the Cup garage. A NASCAR Reddit user recently posted a picture of the No. 4 trailer. It appears that Noah Gragson’s new Front Row Motorsports ride will carry Bass Pro Shops, but not Mahindra. The fan wrote: “It looks like Bass Pro Shops is also going to the 4, but no Mahindra tractors.”
This would be a sharp blow to NASCAR’s already dwindling sponsor arsenal. And losing top-notch sponsors like that is also strange. Denny Hamlin and FedEx had a 20-year-long relationship, and Hamlin fetched 47 of his 54 Cup Series victories with FedEx on the No. 11 Toyota. Despite that, he will part ways with the shipping brand in 2025. Similarly, Mahindra Tractors put Chase Briscoe among the Cup Series glitterati. In just his fourth race wheeling the Stewart-Haas No. 14 Ford with Mahindra, Briscoe clinched his first-ever Cup Series victory at Phoenix Raceway. Then Briscoe delivered the perfect tribute to SHR before it shuttered – winning in Darlington and cracking the 2024 playoffs.
So fans are concerned about Mahindra Tractors’ presence. Will it move on or leave altogether?

If not with Chase Briscoe, then who? That is the big question that is lingering around regarding Mahindra Tractors. FedEx left Denny Hamlin and the sport together, as the two were involved in a blooming driver-sponsor bond. Will Mahindra do the same? One fan referred to the brand’s early meetings with drivers, suggesting possible avenues to shift to. “I remember when they entered, they basically had a sit down with every team to decide whose operation’s chemistry they were most impressed by. IIRC, Chase Briscoe said it was between him and Brad Keselowski, who I think was in his first year at RFK at the time. If they didn’t ship over to JGR, I hope they went to RFK.” Another fan is not so fond of RFK Racing. They opined that newly signed driver Ryan Preece may be pulling away the sponsor. “Ryan preece is the dirty driver stealing sponsorship.”
But what people absolutely would not want is for Mahindra Tractors to leave NASCAR altogether. The automotive brand helped establish Chase Briscoe as a top-notch stock car racer. A fan would like to retain them to do the same magic for another driver: “Hopefully Mahindra went to a different team, instead of leaving the sport altogether.” The brand cultivated good ties with both Briscoe and Tony Stewart. Both of them owned Mahindra tractors and used them on their farmlands in North Carolina and Indiana. So a fan surmised losing this valuable sponsor altogether would be a shame: “Damn leaving the sport entirely is rough.”
Mahindra’s work also received loads of appreciation. Besides bringing Chase Briscoe to Victory Lane, the sponsor also did groundbreaking work in rolling out snazzy paint schemes. If they leave, then fans’ hearts will grow heavy like the times when other sponsors left – like M&M leaving Kyle Busch. One fan observed this: “If Mahindra is truly leaving NASCAR, they would be joining that ever growing list of sponsors who have left. It is a shame to lose another sponsor, but at least Briscoe was able to bring them to victory lane, if only once as the primary sponsor. They also had some great commercials and awesome schemes while with Chase. Short lived, but definitely memorable.”
