The 2025 NASCAR season is gaining momentum as the Cup and Xfinity Series roll into Phoenix Raceway. This one-mile tri-oval in Avondale, Arizona, has long been a critical stop on the NASCAR calendar. Christopher Bell enters the weekend riding high after securing his second consecutive win of the season at Circuit of the Americas. Notably, Bell won the 2024 spring race at Phoenix Raceway ahead of Chase Briscoe and Ty Gibbs. And is now on the verge of going three Cup wins in a row, something that hasn’t been achieved by anyone in the Next Gen era.

However, William Byron leads the Cup Series standings with 116 points, followed closely by Ryan Blaney (114) and Tyler Reddick (111). Notably, this week, Goodyear will come up with an Option tire package to improve on-track action. If everything goes well, NASCAR might opt for this compound as its preferred choice for the championship race later this year. Fans can expect a thrilling weekend of racing at the “Desert Jewel” in Avondale, Arizona. Here’s everything you need to know about the Phoenix 2025 NASCAR weekend.

Weather Report and Ticket Policy

The weather for the Phoenix race weekend is expected to be ideal for racing. On Saturday, temperatures will start at 67°F in the morning and rise to 72°F by the end of the race, with no precipitation expected and winds between 3 to 5 mph. On Sunday, temperatures will be slightly higher, reaching 79°F by mid-race, with zero chance of rain and winds at 6 mph.

Although rain is not in the forecast, NASCAR’s Weather Protection Program ensures that fans can exchange unused grandstand tickets for future races if an event is postponed due to inclement weather. One has to exchange their tickets for selected upcoming events after the race is called off at Phoenix. Notably, this policy applies to various NASCAR tracks, including Daytona, Talladega, and Richmond. However, Daytona 500 and Phoenix Championship Race tickets can only be exchanged for the same event in the following year.

Notably, Phoenix Raceway has historically been a place where drivers snap long droughts. In 2011, Jeff Gordon ended his 66-race winless streak, while in 2013, Carl Edwards ended his 70-race winless streak. This year, fans can hope that Kyle Busch might join the list and end his 60-race winless streak. It’s worth mentioning that he led a race-high 42 laps at COTA last weekend.

Entertainment, Fan Activities, and Tailgating Policies

Beyond the on-track action, NASCAR fans at Phoenix Raceway will have plenty of entertainment options. The Busch Light Lounge inside The Barn will offer a premium fan experience, featuring a large center bar with televisions, cornhole, pool tables, shuffleboard, and DJ entertainment. Fans who purchase access to the lounge will also receive complimentary beer, wine, Coca-Cola soft drinks, and Dasani water.
