NASCAR has resorted to benevolence. In the latest announcement, senior vice-president Ben Kennedy stated that NASCAR will open the gates for the fans to witness the heats, practice, and qualifying races for the Busch Light Clash. One might wonder what is so different this time. Well, it is the fact that NASCAR will allow fans to watch these races for a total of zero dollars.

Following up on the announcement, Kennedy also shared the details of these tickets’ availability with the community. Posting the additional instructions on Twitter, the senior VP welcomed NASCAR fans from around the country for the unofficial season-opener for 2024.

For 2024, NASCAR had made a decision which didn’t sit well with a lot of fans and naturally created some commotion in the community. As Shane Walters of Racing News described it, “For 2024, the Busch Light Clash will be split into a two-day show. Saturday, February 3rd will host practice/qualifying as well as heat races. The one LCQ race as as well as feature race will take place Sunday, February 4th. Now, with it being split into a two-day show, fans at the stadium will only be allowed to watch the LCQ and feature. The building will not be open to the public for Saturday’s portion of the show.”

But it seems, to calm the situation, NASCAR went back on their decision and ended up making three races before the main event free to watch. Making the incredible news official from his end, Ben Kennedy tweeted, “We can confirm that we’re opening Saturday free to fans at the Coliseum. Gates open at 10 AM from the south side of the stadium. We’ll be opening Gate 1. See you there!”

This is a great opportunity for NASCAR fans to watch their favorite drivers test the waters in Los Angeles. Since the Busch Light Clash also happens to be the unofficial season opener, fans should also expect to see their heros wearing their new sponsors’ colors.

The off-season is coming to a close soon. With it, teams have hurried to announce their sponsors as well. In recent events, Trackhouse Racing, Richard Childress Racing, and Stewart-Haas Racing are among some prominent names to sign sponsor agreements. Justin Marks’ Trackhouse Racing has added Quaker State and Wendy’s to its arsenal this week, on top of the season-opener title partner Anheuser-Busch.

Richard Childress Racing, on the other hand, has received the backing of trustworthy partners like Cheddar’s Kitchen and Lucas Oil. Kyle Busch‘s presence in the team has been a lucrative spot for sponsoring companies. RCR has also brought in Zone, its latest partner, along with Rebel Bourbon and Global Industrial.

SHR’s search for Josh Berry’s primary sponsor ended with an agreement with Harrison’s. Further announcements will be coming pretty soon from the Tony Stewart-owned team as the Clash inches closer. Legacy Motor Club has also stood out in the sponsor market by switching to Toyota. Carvana is the latest company to add value to the team, sponsoring Jimmie Johnson at the Daytona 500, Coca Cola 600, and the Brickyard 400.
