This week, NASCAR midweek racing action returns after a gap. The NASCAR Cup Series ‘Blue Emu 500’ will start on Wednesday at the Martinsville Speedway.
NASCAR will run a midweek race after taking a break in Atlanta. Earlier, after the series returned from COVID-19 lockdown, they introduced midweek races for the first time. And the new shorter format withe multiple races in a week has been hit with the fans.
The track will host a 500-lap, 263-mile race Cup Series race. And the race will start on 7:00 PM EST. Additionally, As part of a special NASCAR-WWE collaboration, WWE stars AJ Styles and Daniel Bryan will act as the ‘Grand Marshall’ for the race.

Yesterday, Martinsville Speedway posted a special promo video on Twitter. The video features all the big names of the series and gives a glimpse of some of the most memorable on-track moments.

Blaney will start from the pole in the NASCAR Cup race at Martinsville
This week, the random draw gives Ryan Blaney a chance to start from the pole position. Stewart-Haas racing’s Aric Almirola will join him on the front row. Blaney had a decent run after NASCAR’s return from the pandemic and this might be his shot to take a win at Martinsville.
On the other hand, Aric Almirola have had a very poor season and is yet to make a remarkable race finish. He started in the first row earlier as well but is yet to take his first ‘top 5’ finish of the season.

Additionally, Ryan’s Team Penske teammate Joey Logano will start behind him at number three alongside Almirola’s teammate Clint Bowyer. Last race’s star performing Joe Gibbs teammate Martin Truex Jr and Kyle Busch will start at P5 and P7 respectively. And the man who is having the run of his life after the season restart, Brad Keselowski will start at the sixth place.
