Dale Jr said that he was wearing Onitsuka Tiger’s Mexico 66. A sneaker that was comfortable and a tribute to soccer. He mentioned that he had been wearing that kind of shoe for a long time as they were comfortable, and easy to put on and kick-off. Jr. also mentioned that he had a bunch of Asics shoes lying at home, which he color co-ordinates with his t-shirts and hats.

Answering a fan question on the show, Jr. said, “Yeah, these are Asics. They make a Mexico 66 style shoes are what it’s called. I think it’s from, it’s sort of a nod to soccer. And so, I’ve worn them forever, I don’t know, they’re very comfortable.”

“Easy to put on, kick off and they come in so many different colors which I always kind of like to wear all kinds of different ones. I mean you see me, I’m wearing different, you know with my hats and my t-shirts and all that. But, I got a lot of pairs of Asics and I haven’t been shopping for many of them here lately but they’re kind of getting harder to find and I don’t know if they’re making less of these or what. But I’ve got a bunch of these back home. I took some pictures one day and was gonna post it on social media but Amy said that would be a bad idea,” he added.

The 48-year-old then also reminisced about the time he was in high school and had discovered wrestling shoes. He felt that those shoes were quite comfortable to wear at the time and were quite similar to the shoes NASCAR drivers wear. The reason why Jr is such a huge fan of Asics is because they give a similar feel.

“I remember when I was in high school getting a hold of a pair of wrestling shoes and how comfortable those were and they’re really similar to NASCAR drivers’ shoes. They’re very easy to wear, not much sole, and so I’ve gotten so accustomed to wearing those style of shoes and this kind of reminds me of that,” he said.

He had gone out for dinner with his friends and got to know about a medium plus steak for the first time in his life. This new discovery blew his mind and he couldn’t contain his amusement in the podcast episode with his close friend, Mike Davis.

“So I’m sitting there at dinner in Pocono and I get a salmon plate and pretty much everybody else gets a steak and the lady asks, ‘well how do you want it cooked’, and the guy says medium plus. And I said, ‘what the hell’, and he’s like yeah medium plus and I’m like, I mean is that like medium rare? What the hell? Why won’t you just say medium rare? That’s silly. Plus? What is this,” Dale Jr said.

It was a night of confusion for Jr who just could not get his head around the concept of a steak preparation in between medium and medium well.
