Plan your tailgating right
At LVMS, tailgating is allowed, but unsupervised burger sizzling isn’t. You can set up in designated spots like the Stockyard area behind Turns 3 and 4, which is prime real estate for that pre-race vibe. The catch? You’ve got to buy those spaces ahead of time. No showing up and claiming a random corner of the lot. And don’t even think about sneaking booze through the gates; outside alcohol is a hard no. You’re allowed one non-alcoholic drink per person, up to 64 ounces, in a plastic bottle, cup, or metal tumbler. Leave your glass bottles at home. Inside, concessions have you covered with beer, soda, and more. Plan smart, and your wallet will thank you.
Live the Full Camping Experience at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Camping at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is next-level. They’ve got options for everyone—RV hookups, tent sites, you name it. You can stay on-site for up to five days, all-inclusive, with portable restrooms, event shuttles, and 24/7 security thrown in. You will be right in the middle of it with fans shouting, motors revving, the entire thing. NASCAR weekend spots run out quickly, so reserve yours now. That’s the message of the Pennzoil 400 life: waking up to the fragrance of race gas and rubber.
Cooler Policy
Bad news for cooler fans, as they’re banned in the grandstands. No hauling in a big chest stuffed with sandwiches and drinks. You get one food item per person, either a sandwich, a bag of chips, or an apple. Nothing family-sized, as the rules are strict on that. If you’re hungry mid-race, concession stands offer a variety of nachos, burgers, and hot dogs, while independent vendors roll in with pizza and BBQ on event days. It’s not cheap, but you won’t starve. The no-cooler rule keeps things tight with security watching, so don’t test them.
What’s your perspective on:
Is tailgating at LVMS worth the hassle with all these rules, or is it part of the fun?

Parking is Free and Easy
Parking is a win, and it’s free! Las Vegas Motor Speedway has lots circling the speedway, so you’ve got options no matter where you’re rolling in from. Check their site for maps to reserve a spot near your gate or seats. But you have to get there early. The Pennzoil 400 weekend comprises the Cup Series, Xfinity, and Craftsman Truck Series and is expected to pull a massive crowd. Traffic jams up quick, especially with the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars running on Friday and Saturday at the Dirt Track next door. Handicapped fans are covered, and they can call 800-644-4444 for tram or shuttle help. Whatever you do, make sure you hit the track early Sunday to beat the Cup Series rush.

Prohibited Items
The banned list is long, so pay attention. No aerosols, unless it’s sunscreen, sanitizer, or bug spray. Frisbees, balloons, and footballs are a no-go. They don’t want stuff flying around. Golf carts, scooters, hoverboards, and dirt bikes are all out. Umbrellas and stadium seats over 18 inches wide or any kind of arms are not allowed. Bags are fine as per the stipulation of two per person and a maximum of 18x18x14 inches. Follow this list by heart, as they’ll check everything. Don’t try smuggling a six-pack as security’s on high alert!
