The inception of the round of 16 at Darlington is indeed a deep grind for the drivers in the playoffs berth. Throughout the 367 laps, it is all about survive, survive, and survive. Someone is going to win the race for sure, but looking at the importance of Championship 4, perhaps not all drivers on the grid will aim for the win over the next few weeks.

Although for Kyle Larson, the win was exceptionally sweet. Being one of the crowd jewel tracks of NASCAR, the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion is worthy of receiving flowers after his first career victory at Darlington. Meanwhile, two NASCAR insiders went gaga on platform X with a poll regarding the race. And NASCAR fans did not hold back from joining in with them. But what was so provocative about a mere vote?

Moments after the 500-mile-long race concluded, sports journalist Jeff Gluck’s tweet appeared on the feeds of numerous fans, asking, ‘Was Darlington a good race?’ Truck driver Carson Hocevar voted ‘yes,’ but he seemed to miss the fact that another NASCAR insider had launched a different poll well before the race started. Jeff felt that this was akin to cheating.

During the recording of a recent video for Gluck’s YouTube channel, his friend Jordan Bianchi tweeted, ‘Informal straw poll: How would you rate tonight’s Darlington race?’ Some wondered if Jordan was using Twitter while recording the podcast, and Jeff Gluck’s annoyance at his friend’s clever move drew the attention of many.

At the end of the episode, Jordan said, “I put a little thing on Twitter so I’m trying to help study up here a little bit.”

Jeff exclaimed, “You can’t do that!”

Jordan argued, “Show me the bylaws!”

“That is absolute BS… you’re doing a poll beforehand?” Jeff cried out in astonishment.

Jordan replied, “I’m reading the temperature of the room, Jeff.”

While many considered this cheating, Jordan felt like this was not prohibited by NASCAR. Jeff Gluck explained that it was similar to tweaking the fuel or tires before the race. And as they spoke on the podcast, someone named Rocky Mountain Paul left a comment that had Jeff side with him.

Bianchi might not consider it “dirty”, but many fans did. On the other hand, there were fans who snubbed Jeff saying that rules were meant to be broken. The entire rumble on Twitter was at the least worth the entertainment.

Jeff wrote, Blatant cheating for the “Was It A Good Race?” poll prediction. Hope he gets a big penalty for this.”

To which, his friend responded by saying, “Show me where in the rulebook that it says I can’t do this.”

In the comments section of Jordan’s poll, Rocky Mtn Paul wrote, “Are you cheating while recording the podcast?”

“No. It’s called ingenuity,” replied Bianchi.

When Jeff called Jordan out on his Twitter, fans responded with all sorts of comments.

Someone said, “Apparently Judge Jeff is back, however due to personal reasons and unable to give an unbiased judgement, Judge Jeff should recuse himself from this case. “

While another commented, “Jordan are you new to NASCAR? Rules are meant to be edited “

Jeff Gluck found a comment particularly interesting. It read, “Bianchi is the Hendrick of writers Jeff, no penalty assessed. The local beat writer for Darlington news paper however has been fired, and had his pension taken away. Appeal pending.”

Gluck replied to that admitting, “I will be exploring all my legal options!”
