With a career spanning over 2 decades and a combined win tally of 228 in NASCAR’s national series, Kyle Busch has set the bar very high. The Richard Childress Racing driver is currently 3rd in the driver standings with 3 wins to his name this season. In the upcoming race, Busch will be looking to reach a tally of 5 victories at the Pocono Raceway. But in a recent episode of NASCAR’s “The Preview Show Delivered by Doordash,” presenters Alan Cavanna and Kim Coon made a bold statement on Kyle Busch’s chances of victory in Pocono as they summed up his season so far.

Busch is currently only behind Denny Hamlin and Jeff Gordon, both of whom have 6 wins at the Pocono Raceway.

Discussing the upcoming race weekend, Alan and Kim spoke about how Kyle Busch will probably not win at Pocono. They based their prediction on the argument that Busch has not had a very consistent season so far.

Speaking on the recent form of Toyota, Kim said, “You [Alan] mentioned the seven recent wins by Toyota, four of those seven came from Kyle Busch. But he’s no longer in a Toyota. He’s now in a Chevrolet, so what are we expecting from KB?”

“I expect him to bring that talent just to the #8 team now as he’s been doing all year,” said Alan. “A little inconsistent, that’s my only worry with Kyle Bush.”

He continued, “It seems like this year he’s either in the Winner’s Circle or finished in 30th or worse. You don’t want the 30th or worst right, you want that consistency, especially when we’re pushing toward the playoffs and for that Championship run.

Agreeing with the inconsistency argument, Kim said, “I think we’re going to see a solid day for him, I wouldn’t say a win, but a top-five finish. He’s so good at Pocono, and for a long time, he wasn’t. But then something clicked, he has figured it out. I think we see a top five from the #8 car.”

Busch revealed his retirement plans in a conversation on the show “Cars and Culture with Jason Stein.” He explained how his future plans are centered around his son Brexton Busch as he grows up.

“I would say in a perfect world—I’ve kind of dreamt this up a little bit—In a perfect world, I would retire from Cup racing when Brexton is 15 years old and I would go run a year of Trucks,” said Busch.

He continued, “So, I would do that, and then when Brexton turns 16, him and I can split that truck where he can run the shorter track races and I can run the bigger track races. And then when he’s 18, he takes it over, and then when he runs it and takes it over and hopefully wins a championship, then he moves on and then I’m out. So that would probably put me around, I guess 49, 50 years old.”
