In the fast-paced world of NASCAR racing, tensions can run high, and sometimes drivers find themselves pointing fingers at one another after a wreck. Such was the case recently when Hailie Deegan and Lawless Alan found themselves caught up in a wreck during the Truck Series race in Nashville last Saturday. Following the incident, Alan did not bother mincing his words as he expressed, “I mean, I don’t think there’s much to say. She’s talentless, and just sailed it off in there and wrecked me. It’s lap, what, three? And she’s sailing it in there. I just don’t understand what the move was about. It’s not the first time she’s wrecked me. She does it to f****ng everybody”

While several people in the racing community echoed Alan’s sentiments, there were many who took the other side. In a recent episode of the Door, Bumper, Clear podcast, NASCAR spotter Freddie Kraft, along with co-host Casey Boat and Taylor Moyer, came to Deegan‘s defense, highlighting the need for a fair perspective and emphasizing the mistakes made by Lawless Alan himself.

When asked about whether Alan’s statement was spot on or spot off regarding Hailie Deegan, Freddie Kraft’s response was clear as he declared, “Spot Off.”

He further added, “Listen there’s nobody out there that’s talentless, I don’t think. There’s maybe some who are more talented than others but I think if you look up, there’s a saying about glass houses or stones or something like that … I get it, it’s frustrating and it was her fault. She drove into turn 3, got loose, and chased it up into him. It’s not like she ran up and drove into the back of him.”

Drawing a comparison with his own driver, Bubba Wallace, Kraft said, “This is just, it happens man. Whenever you go back up years ago and Bubba messes up and wrecks Brad [Keselowski], what does he do? I mean he was just racing and it happens. Does that make Bubba talentless? No, he just messed up. And she doesn’t make a lot of mistakes…She was able to be pretty competitive I thought, more so than the trucks I mean. But it was more driver and machine vs you know just who can hold it wide open and stuff like that.”

Brad Keselowski‘s spotter TJ Majors backed Kraft’s argument. Majors, who also spots for Dale Earnhardt Jr’s Xfinity Series driver, Josh Berry, also shared his views on the Deegan-Alan feud as he proclaimed, “You can count on one hand the number of times she’s done that in the Truck Series. You can take all your hands and feet and count the number of times that she’s been wrecked. So I’m spot off as well because let’s just be honest, this kid is not lighting the world on fire himself and he’s made a lot of mistakes.”

Taking a jab at Alan, he further added, “We could sit here and make a 3-shows worth of all the things he’s done too. I mean, Martinsville, when I’m spotting for him, every corner he rode out in, just to hit her in the middle of the corner and just he’s running them. And you know how you can see ’em get off the brake and roll more speed in the middle when they try to move somebody? Every corner he was doing that. I would look up his stats but I’m willing to be she’s got more NASCAR wins.”
