Imagine Dale Earnhardt flaunting an iPhone 15 in his hands during the late 90s. The assertion seems implausible, right? The world has changed by leaps and bounds since the time Dale Earnhardt raced on the tracks of NASCAR. However, what has remained timeless is the Intimidator’s indispensable sense of aura that he exuded on the tracks of NASCAR and his unique sense of style. His dark shades of sunglasses and his mustache have remained iconic throughout the years. However, one might wonder why the sudden mention of iPhones and the Intimidator’s style?
Well, it seems that the present generation can forge a connection between the two. If one is nodding in disbelief at how the tech giant is related, well the hilarious tweet by veteran journalist Toby Christie might prove it otherwise.

The world has been bombarded with terms like Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence, which seem to be an intangible part of daily, mundane life. However, both these concepts are fresh out of the oven and have been unknown to people in the early 2000s. For them, technology was restricted to the world of NASCAR, where engineering skills were flaunted against one another, in order to kiss the coveted Cup Series trophy and how Dale Earnhardt navigated the tracks of NASCAR.
However, for the present generation, who have the world wrapped around them owing to boons of technological development, living without the gifts of technology is synonymous with living in the age of the dinosaurs and being removed from reality. This belief was asserted by veteran NASCAR journalist Toby Christie’s child. The young kid drew parallels to the newly released Apple Vision Pro with Dale Earnhardt’s iconic aviator glasses.
Christie posted on his Twitter profile the hilarious account of his child, “My child is going on and on about the Apple Vision Pro, and I tell him that Dale Earnhardt used to wear them a long time ago. He says, “Do you know how he did that?” I said, “how?” Without missing a beat, “he preordered them.””

Apple’s Vision Pro, which is tagged at $3499, hinges on what is termed as ‘spatial computing’ where the virtual world intermingles with the real world. The pre-orders for the mistaken Dale Earnhardt glasses have been put up for a pre-sale on January 19. And the deliveries are slated to begin from February 2, 2024.
While Toby Christie’s child might be attuned with the latest technological updates, Dale Earnhardt’s son and the former Cup Series driver Dale Earnhardt Jr might not have been the one who indulged in this form of hobbies. Rather, Junior as a kid was the one who was filled with mischief.
