As a NASCAR fan, have you ever wondered what sets this Stock Car Racing Series apart? Is it the all-American spirit of racing, is it the drama, is it the controversies, or is it the pure thrill of watching these race cars go around the tracks at unbelievable speeds?

Well, in a true sense, it’s all the above aspects that set NASCAR apart from its competition. Another unique thing that excites fans in the sport are the short tracks and their past-faced nature. Despite this, the community seems rather skeptical about the organization’s decision to bring the racing paddock to Bristol at this time of the year.

Fans have their reasons. Popular NASCAR photographer and racing enthusiast Daylon Barr was one of the first to express his skepticism regarding racing on the dirt track with the weather bringing a bad omen.

NASCAR enthusiast exclaims the worst for the Bristol track

While hardcore fans dislike the idea of racing on a dirt track, others find the idea intriguing. Watching their favorite drivers competing on a short track on dirt seems to excite them. Hence, while the dirt track at Bristol Motor Speedway adds to the uniqueness of NASCAR, not everyone from the community seems to like the idea.

But now, with the weather being the antagonist in Tennessee, fans are almost certain that the race is going to get sloppy.

With his recent tweet, Daylon spoke about what many ardent fans had in their minds. Barr wrote, “this weekend is going to be the death of the bristol dirt race.”

Fellow journalist, editor, and enthusiast Jim Utter joined in the conversation with his comment, “And those of us covering it lol”

The community had a laugh when the photographer got back to the comment with a sarcastic tweet, “certainly can’t use “damp weather tires” on the dirt tracks when it rains”

Originally, the track was meant as a short track with concrete underneath the dirt. But the organization thought about bringing some action to the not-so-popular track by adding in some dirt. And fans express their displeasure vividly.

“NASCAR needs to stop trying to race north of Atlanta before Easter. It’s as simple as that. This time of year is a craps shoot in terms of what weather you’re going to get. Martinsville is going to be warm, at least, but still a healthy chance of rain.”

While another fan elaborated on the distinction the track brings to NASCAR.

“The NASCAR schedule is the most diverse in all of auto racing. Keep it, id argue twice a year these guys should be racing dirt. In NASCAR you have to be a master at short tracks, speedways, super speedways, short road courses, long road courses, street course and yes even DIRT.”

Others had to worry about the weather playing spoilsport.

While many seem to dislike the idea of bringing the track at this time of the year, the current super competitive drivers in NASCAR will make things interesting for the fans! We should definitely watch out for some action!
