Ty Gibbs has been the center of attention in the Xfinity Series, but for all the wrong reasons. Fans and fellows have lost respect for him, especially after his repeated fake apologies and multiple intentional wrecking on track. Despite apologizing for his actions he continues to play the villain and thinks that he might be doing great but a NASCAR insider thinks otherwise.

Jeff Gluck said, “Honestly when he’d do some of the stuff earlier, even the pit road thing, I was like alright that’s really bad but you know eventually he’ll learn not to do that. Like he’ll get that stuff under control, he’ll get that stuff sorted out and I think he means well. Ultimately he has some lapses in judgment. This was more than like a lapse of judgment. This was more like a conscious decision and backing it up like this is how I am going to race.”

“This is how I’m gonna be. He said doubling down on the comments afterward and thinks like that. So that’s who he is now okay? Like that’s different than I was perceiving him. I think the perception has changed. He’s probably fine sponsor wise you know and obviously, he’s not gonna lose his ride but like long term, if you become, even, Kyle Busch right as much as we talk about Kyle Busch on this show. Kyle Busch would rather be the most popular driver.”

“He doesn’t want to be disliked. There’s been times when he’d sort of wear the black hat. You know out of fun, but he doesn’t want to be booed.  So I think you’re seeing Ty Gibbs become closest to embracing the villain thing that we have seen.”

Where does Jeff Gluck think this might end up for Ty Gibbs?

Gluck further explained how his behavior and actions now will turn out to be a massive problem for himself later in his career.

Kraft said he thinks that Ty Gibbs is just opening up to be a “Ross Chastain don’t give a fuck tour” for this year or perhaps for next year. Gluck explained how Chastain used to be booed earlier in the season, but toward the end, he started getting massive cheers from the crowd.

Gluck also stated that while there might not be any repercussions for his actions or behavior at the moment, however, he might start regretting his decisions down the road, especially with the sponsors as he progresses with his career.
