In the world of NASCAR, the performance of teams and drivers is always under the spotlight, and the latest buzz surrounds RFK Racing and its claim to be the best Ford team. RFK Racing had a spectacular weekend at Richmond, with both their drivers showcasing impressive skills on the track. While Chris Buescher got his first win of the season, Brad Keselowski performed well before an issue in the pits dropped him down to 6th position. Seeing 6 of the top 10 cars were Ford this past weekend, it is safe to say that RFK’s association with Ford has been the driving force behind their recent success. But are they the best Ford team?
Now, claims are that RFK Racing have been performing well and making strides to overcome other teams, but haven’t quite reached the summit yet. After an eventful weekend at Richmond, the NASCAR on NBC podcast sparked a debate on whether RFK Racing deserves the top spot among Ford teams.

During the NASCAR on NBC podcast, questions arose about RFK Racing’s standing among Ford teams. Kim Coon addressed the claim and emphasized the need for more consistency over a longer period to be considered the best. She highlighted that although RFK Racing is on the right track, it’s premature to crown them as the top Ford team.
Coon shared her insights, stating, “No, not yet. I’d like to see more consistency over the course of more than just a year and a half from the changes that were made when Brad came in and where they’re going with the team now.” She suggested that if RFK Racing continues to perform well and secures more wins, it might warrant the title in the future. However, she acknowledged that the competition among Ford teams, including powerhouse organizations like Team Penske and Stewart Haas Racing, is tough and constantly evolving.
Adding to the conversation, Kim Coon compared RFK Racing to Stewart Haas Racing. She said, “I do think though they are at a place where they’re toe to toe, if not maybe have a toe over the line relative to SHR and SHR is still winless on the season.” She observed that RFK Racing might be slightly ahead of SHR at the moment, thanks to their two drivers compared to SHR’s four, giving them an edge in consistency and performance.
