It is very interesting to see the NASCAR community connect with the Chili Bowl race event. Every year fans witness NASCAR’s beloved racers competing there at the very beginning of the year. The indoor midget car race this year has some interesting names listed. But names like Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell, who dominated there once, will not be seen at the race this year.
The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Champion Larson has been very vocal about having a bigger purse for the Chili Bowl this year. One more name joining Larson on this is the young Joe Gibbs Racing driver Christopher bell. After a lot of speculation about it, it looks like we have a confirmation that Bell will also not be seen at the Chili Bowl, owing to the same reason as Larson. The NASCAR insider Bob Pockrass explained this in very detail when questioned by a fan on his tweet.

Recently Bob Pockrass took to his Twitter and posted, “Neither Larson nor Bell are running the Chili Bowl. They have been advocating for bigger purses for midget/sprint-car events and the Chili Bowl pays $10K to the winner (plus $150 per lap led in the main event).”
A fan named Melissa, replying to his tweet, wrote, “David Bell said, Christopher is just taking a break. He is not with Larson when it comes to a bigger purse. Cbell is relaxing during off season.”
Replying to her tweet Pockrass wrote, “Christopher told me in July: “Hopefully the event will continue to grow and if the purse grows, the sky is the limit for that race.” … I then asked if purse grows, would he/Larson be back & he said: “Absolutely, there’s no reason we wouldn’t be back there if that’s the case.”
Well, this piece of information from Pockrass confirms that both Larson and Bell will not be seen at the Chili bowl race this year for the same reason.

Both Kyle and Christopher seem in agreement to return to the midget race. But only in the future, if there is a bigger purse at the Chili Bowl. Fans may not get to see Larson at Chili Bowl this year, but they can currently see him at the Wild West Shootout.
