Earlier this year, Frankie Muniz made an unexpected switch to racing. The 37-year-old is best known for his role in Malcolm in the Middle and Agent Cody Banks. However, soon enough, his name will be associated with a profession miles apart from the one he left behind. Pursuing his dream to race with some of the country’s most elite drivers, Frankie announced that he would be driving in the ARCA Menards Series and continued to live his dream.
But in the sport of NASCAR, one needs to be aware of the opportunities that might arise in the future. With hopes of moving into one of the three national racing series, Muniz’s next goal lies in the Craftsman Truck Series, which is an excellent step in the positive direction.

At one point in the season, he looked on course to have a smooth sailing season with a second-place stint in the points standings after 9 races this season. Fighting in the #30 for Rette Jones Racing, Muniz has used the platform available to him to the maximum extent.
Looking at his aspirations of moving into the Truck Series, AM Racing could be his potential destination. With the team widening its charter to two drivers in 2024, Frankie could probably move into that second opening.
Truck Series driver Hailie Deegan is also one of the contenders for Muniz, but could also move to Xfinity Series, especially after a shambolic season in the third-tier opportunity. Explaining his motives for the season, Muniz explained his standpoint to a reporter in an interview, saying:
“I’ve been talking to a lot of people. Obviously, I’m in the Ford camp so, probably know who I’m talking to, in that sense but we’ve got some really good options on the table and just trying to figure it all out.”
“That’s why I’m here actually today. With me moving forward I had a meeting set up there, so just kind of, you know, we just figured everything out.” stated the former actor. Frankie claiming that second spot as a full-time driver will be another milestone in this tough journey of his. Coming from Hollywood to racing in the grassroots at ARCA to getting a shot in one of the national series, life couldn’t have progressed faster for Frankie.

After 18 races in his racing career in ARCA, Frankie Muniz has had only one top 5 and 9 top 10s to his name. With no laps led, he has had to endure a tough season so far. However, an average finishing position of 11.2 implies he hasn’t deviated much from his starting position at 10th either. Longer speedways have produced the best results for him so far.
After his first fifth-place finish in Michigan last month, Muniz was in a comfortable position, sitting second. In his first 11 starts, he finished in the top-10 8 times, which is a commendable statistic.
Speaking about a new phase of life in the world of racing, Muniz spoke out about it last month to Autoweek, as he revealed:
“Nearly every race has been a challenge for one reason or another, but I believe we have approached the races well and executed them to the best of our ability. From superspeedways to intermediate tracks, short tracks and road courses—I’ve embraced it all with an open mind.”
Another goal in his sight is to claim a championship victory. Although his career is just getting started, his zeal to climb the ladder in haste is appreciable. However, at the same time, he also understands that the path to it is a big process that takes time.

“But, if we want to have any shot at this championship, we have to step it up a little. Jesse (Love) though is so good right now and he’ll need to have a little bit of bad luck for us or anyone for that matter to have an impact. That can happen. We’ve seen that happen for both him and us.” stated Muniz.
More challenges await him, as he moves forward in his career. Luck has been a significant factor that hasn’t been on his side fully yet, as was visible in Kansas where his car succumbed to the flames.
