The 1.5-mile oval is next in line for the 2024 Cup Series title and will have a parochial reach. Since Homestead-Miami Speedway first opened its gates to NASCAR’s premier series in 1999, only the cream of the racing has achieved victories there. All 17 winners owned at least 19 career victories except for William Byron and Christopher Bell. So expect the racing for the Homestead schedule to be brimming with energy, which will begin on Saturday. We would witness both NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Xfinity Series races on that day, alongside preparations for the penultimate Cup race.
- Practice for the race will begin at 9:05 a.m. ET
- Followed by qualifying at 9:50 a.m. ET. The 38 drivers will be split into two groups. Each group will get 20 minutes of free practice and then compete in two-round qualifying.
- Then on Sunday, the countdown to green will set off at 2 p.m. ET, and the Straight Talk Wireless 400 will be flagged off at 2:30 p.m. ET. Ticket prices range from $34 to $174, with children of 12 years or younger allowed in for just $10. For couch potatoes, the Cup race will be broadcast on NBC and streamed on the NBC Sports App. Journalist Bob Pockrass updated the Homestead schedule on X.

Have an interesting take?
NASCAR drivers are preparing for a grand showdown with hefty purses fixed for the winners. While the Cup Series holds the highest figures at $7,997,594, Xfinity has $1,496,850, and Truck has $769,881. And the lineup is fascinating—four part-timers will join the usual 34 full-timers.
A.J. Allmendinger and Kaz Grala will continue their part-time schedules for Kaulig Racing and Rick Ware Racing, respectively. J.J. Yeley will make his seventh start of the season for the NY Racing Team. And in a unique twist, Chad Finchum rejoins MBM Motorsports for his second race of 2024.
However, all eyes will be on a few incredible racers, who hold a glittering history at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Joey Logano hoisted his first Cup championship trophy at the Homestead track six years ago. He placed his infant son Hudson inside the giant silver chalice. Logano won the 2018 Homestead race, zooming past leader Martin Truex Jr.’s No. 78 Toyota in his No. 22 Ford with 12 laps left following a late caution. So after winning the Las Vegas race last week, the Team Penske driver is basking in heights of confidence.
“I don’t think there’s a race that stands out in my mind more than that one.” He added, “I would argue that I’m the only car on the racetrack that has zero to lose and a win to gain.” However, his rivals are some solid contenders for the Homestead schedule at the 1.5-mile track in Florida.

Hendrick Motorsports is a force to reckon with in this group. Kyle Larson has finished in the top five in five of the last eight races at Homestead, besides leading the series with six wins this year. William Byron has finished in the top four in each of the last four races. Then Joe Gibbs Racing looks equally formidable for the Homestead schedule. Denny Hamlin has the most Homestead wins with three and 12 top-10s in 19 career starts. Then Christopher Bell won at the track last year and has a series-high 21 top 10s this season. He is also one lap away from leading 1,000 this season.
Evidently, Joey Logano will have a lot on his plate if he plans to fetch a back-to-back victory at Homestead. Let us wait and see how this thrilling race ensues for the championship pursuit.
