Now, Samsung, the $249 billion global tech giant, has risen to the challenge. Having already showcased its expertise with the Las Vegas Grand Prix in Formula 1, Samsung is now turning its attention to NASCAR.
In a landmark multi-year partnership, Samsung has joined forces with NASCAR to introduce cutting-edge technology into its race-day operations. Specifically, this collaboration focuses on NASCAR’s newly launched remote race control room, located in its 58,000-square-foot production facility in Concord, North Carolina.

At the heart of this control room lies Samsung’s ‘The Wall’, a 32-foot-wide and nine-foot-high digital display that boasts unparalleled pixel density and exceptional clarity. This advanced LED screen enables officials to review real-time video, audio, and data from the track, ensuring precise and fair decisions on penalties and race standings.
David Phelps, Head of the Display Division at Samsung Electronics America, emphasized the transformative potential of this partnership. He stated: “Our indoor LED displays and monitors will help NASCAR fuel a new era of race-day precision from the first lap to the final stretch. With superior visuals and real-time data, officials will experience unmatched clarity and insight into every moment of each race.”

Notably, the new system supports up to 24 officials, who can monitor feeds from 200 cameras, driver audio, and race data simultaneously. This enhanced infrastructure is expected to significantly improve the speed and accuracy of race calls, addressing long-standing concerns about controversial officiating in NASCAR.

Steve Stum, NASCAR’s Vice President of Operations and Technical Production, also highlighted the importance of the partnership: “Remote Race Control will give NASCAR officials unparalleled views of more than 200 camera angles with multiple data points from every car that were previously not available.” This detailed integration ensures that every angle, whether from onboard cameras or Pit Road Officiating (PRO) systems, is accessible.
