With the Kyle Busch contract situation that seems to be looming over Joe Gibbs, in addition to the recent disqualification at Pocono after coming in 2nd, JGR’s season seems to be one gloomy dark place to be. Moreover, NASCAR Hall Of Famer, Dale Jarrett believes there hasn’t been a tougher year for Joe Gibbs than the current one.

During a recent podcast, Dale Jarrett said, “Since they started racing at Joe Gibbs Racing in 1992, I can’t think of a more difficult time. Obviously, I’m talking about the racing side itself. Obviously, Joe Gibbs lost a son, JD who was a huge part of Joe Gibbs Racing and a huge part of their success.”
“Not only on the track but off the track, of having sponsors, keeping sponsors, having the right line up of drivers so obviously was a big blow to them.”
He added, “But as far as a racing season and so many things going on, you can see the stress it is putting on Joe Gibbs.”
“Joe has been always accommodating to sponsors, so he is a big selling point for them. But it’s weighing on him a lot not being able to keep arguably one of the best drivers that have ever come through the sport; Kyle Busch. And be able to satisfy his needs as a driver and as far as compensation and getting the sponsor to be able to run the car.”

M&M’s, the chocolate brand, has sponsored Kyle since he joined the JGR back in 2008. However, the company has decided to pull out of NASCAR at the end of the season. Busch, JGR, and Toyota are feeling the pressure to find another sponsor for The Candyman.
According to AP, Kyle said, “We’re all working as hard as we can, obviously, and the goal hasn’t changed, and that goal is for me to be able to continue at Joe Gibbs Racing with Toyota and to have that chance to continue to race for wins and race for championships.”
