After parting ways with Floyd Mayweather and rebranding Money Team Racing, Team Amerivet will kick-start its 2025 NASCAR campaign at Bowman Gray Stadium. The team has only made eight starts in the NASCAR Cup Series with their No. 8 car, but they have big plans for this year. And under the new leadership of Rebecca Auchmoody, Amerivet will look to make a statement at the Cook Out Clash. Ty Dillon piloted the No. 50 Chevy at the Coca-Cola 600, whereas Jeb Burton took command of the ride in Phoenix at the finale race.

However, with Dillon being elevated to a full-time ride with Kaulig Racing in the Cup Series, they have now roped in legendary short-track racer Burt Myers to represent the team at Bowman Gray.

Well, Amerivet might have made the right pick to lead their race car at the special event that kickstarts the 2025 season. This will be Myers’ first-ever Cup Series appearance, and he is excited to showcase his skills against the best drivers in stock car racing. “I’m very excited to be a part of such a monumental event. Every short-track driver dreams of an opportunity like this. For mine to happen at my home track and to be able to continue my NASCAR family legacy means the world to me.” He said this in a press release.

Myers is indeed the undisputed king of Madhouse. He has dominated the quarter mile at the historic track and has a record 11 track championships to his name. He also bagged the title of Modified Tour champion in 2024. Apart from his winning exploits at Bowman Gray, Myers has two NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour championships to his name along with three SMART Modified Tour triumphs.

“This event will help us grow as a team with Burt’s experience and Tony Jr. as crew chief; it will contribute towards improving team performance. It’s also an incredible opportunity for us to continue our mission of supporting veterans through our 50 Vets a Week program… Each race gives us a platform to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who have served, and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together at The Clash.” Team owner Rebecca Auchmoody added.

Tony Eury Jr. will continue to call shots sitting at the top of the pit box for the No. 50 team. As far as sponsorship and funding are concerned, the likes of Citrusafe Cleaners, Pinnacle Finance Partners, C3 Pressure Washing Store, ForgiveCo, and Amerivet Securities have their backs. Meanwhile, ECR engines will continue to provide them with engines to be competitive on the racetrack. A lot of fans were hoping that Team Amerivet would announce their entry for the Daytona 500. However, it looks like the team, for the time being, is invested and focused on the Clash.

Will Amerivet be able to compete in 15 Cup Series races?

According to the team’s website, their primary aim is to help 50 U.S. military veterans per week throughout the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series and pay off their debt. During the championship race in Phoenix, they managed to relieve $125,000 in veteran debt. And they are planning to do something similar this year. They even made a bold announcement that they would run 15-17 races despite being a non-chartered team.

“In order to really get this program off the ground, we need to partner up with sponsors and get to the track. The more we’re on track, the more we can do for the veterans. There are drivers we’re talking to, but they want to hold out for a full-time ride before committing to a part-time opportunity.” Auchmoody stated.

The team has made two Daytona 500 appearances in 2022 and 2023, but it looks like they will stay away from the marquee event in 2025. “The 50 team is still iffy on Daytona. Will do some Cup races but unsure if Daytona will be one of them.” Bob Pockrass from FOX also shared his take on this on X. It remains to be seen how many races team Amerivet can fit in their schedule for the 2025 season.
