For Busch, this 2023 season began with the race at The Clash at the Coliseum. Two of Richard Childress Racing’s teammates scored places in the top 3, Austin Dillon was second and Rowdy third. However, he was not very happy with it and slammed Joey Logano for it. The incident with Joey Logano was a setback for Busch in the race. In a press conference, Busch said, “Yeah, I mean, Logano didn’t get hit by anybody. He just flat out drove through me, so he’s got another one coming–I owe him a few.” He continued saying that the race was much better last year though there was some bumping, but this year was a disaster. Rowdy feels this year’s race was disrespectful, as everyone was just driving through each other.
