Junior Motorsports driver, Justin Allgaier won the 2024 The Crown Royal Purple Bag Project 200 Xfinity Series race at Darlington Raceway. This was the first win for the driver of the No. 7 JRM car this season, and it came after some near-miss winning results early in the season. It was outright domination by Allgaier who hardly had to face any real challenge throughout the race.

Justin Allgaier levels Dale Earnhardt Jr’s record

This was Allgaier’s 24th win of his Xfinity career. It put him level with his team co-owner and boss, Dale Jr placed 10th in terms of the most number of wins in the series history. Moreover, this was his third win at the “track too tough to tame,” and he did so in a dominating fashion. He even gave a shoutout to all the moms on the eve of Mother’s Day weekend during his post-race interview.

Means a lot. I didn’t know if the day would come that I’d be able to match Dale Jr. Not only he is a great boss but a really good mentor and unbelievable race car driver. I mean, you fans know it. Dale Jr, he’s an incredible human being. So to come here be able to tie him, to be able to take over the all-time top 10, man, there’s nothing better than that. What a heck of a weekend, Mother’s Day weekend. I gotta say, Happy Mother’s Day to my mom she’s here, and all you moms out there, all you moms at home, cool weekend.” He said this after winning the race.

Allageir’s best finish in 2024 came at Texas where he finished third. Not to forget, he almost had his first win of the season in the bag at Phoenix before a flat tire put him out of contention with just five laps to go in the race. The win by the No. 7 team was second for Junior Motorsports, Sam Mayer brought home the first win at JRM and secured his playoff spot with the win at Texas.

However, this wasn’t among the entertaining and thrilling races fans have been accustomed to seeing this season from Xfinity races. Well, it won’t be harsh to label the event as boring and stale. Agreeing with this sentiment, fans also shared their honest opinion about the race online on social media.

This was rightfully pointed out by a fellow fan in his reply, “Omg, I can’t believe there wasn’t a typical Xfinity Series late caution flag”.
