If there ever was a list of NASCAR drivers, you could bet your money on to race in racecars other than stock cars and still be competitive enough to take the checkered flag, Kyle Larson would surely be on top of that list.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver has proved time and time again why he is arguably the most well-rounded and talented race car driver of his generation.

So it wouldn’t be a surprise if the defending Cup Series champion does find an INDY500 seat in the future. After all, he admitted his desire to race in that event, and more recently, NASCAR’s hot shot owner Justin Marks opened up on his INDY500 dream.

According to journalist Adam Stern, “@JustinMarksTH says that entering the Indy 500 at some point is “100% a goal of Trackhouse,” per @JackOnSports : “Ten years from now or 15 years from now, I want to be able to look at people and say, ‘Remember when we were just a NASCAR Cup Series team?'”

As you’d expect, NASCAR fans began suggesting the one name any sane person would suggest if you asked them for a driver from current stock car racing scene to fill in a single-seater at one of the biggest races in the world.

In an interview earlier this year, Kyle Larson admitted that he “would love to race” at INDY500 one day. “To me, it is the biggest race in the world, and I want to do it, for sure,” he said.

However, Larson wants to do it with “a great team”, a place where he can feel prepared because he doesn’t just want to do it for the sake of participation.

“I think maybe 10 years ago, I would have wanted to do it to say I did it,” Larson described. “But now I want to do it and know that I have a shot to win. I want to be with a great team. I want to be able to go test.”
