Fox Sports NASCAR reporter Bob Pockrass wrote on Twitter, “Purses for Bristol dirt weekend: Cup: $7,374,089 (includes the amount each charter team gets for running the race as well as the amount charter teams get for past 3-year performance). Trucks: $599,224”
The race is to take place in Bristol Motor Speedway. Martin Truex Jr‘s victory in 2021 here is still remembered by many when he won the race ahead of Rhodes, Lessard and T Gilliland.
NASCAR fans react in shock
Just before the Trucks come out to play in the dirt, the prize purse had the fans go in utter surprise. A person named Garret wrote, “$599,244 seems like pocket change for the truck series. Especially for guys like matt crafton, johnny sauter, matty d, and the older guys. The winning cup driver/team gets about $2-2.5 million? Thats my guess”.

600k for often times better racing and always the more family affordable and kid friendly (length of race). Nothing to see here.. keep the line moving. It’s been like that for as long as I can remember. 👎
