After an exciting race at Martinsville Speedway, NASCAR is in Bristol for the sixth round of the Camping World Truck Series. With the Pinty’s Truck Race to take place on the weekend, fans fume at the purse alloted for the Truck Series.

Fox Sports NASCAR reporter Bob Pockrass wrote on Twitter, “Purses for Bristol dirt weekend: Cup: $7,374,089 (includes the amount each charter team gets for running the race as well as the amount charter teams get for past 3-year performance). Trucks: $599,224”

The race is to take place in Bristol Motor Speedway. Martin Truex Jr‘s victory in 2021 here is still remembered by many when he won the race ahead of Rhodes, Lessard and T Gilliland.

NASCAR fans react in shock

Just before the Trucks come out to play in the dirt, the prize purse had the fans go in utter surprise. A person named Garret wrote, “$599,244 seems like pocket change for the truck series. Especially for guys like matt crafton, johnny sauter, matty d, and the older guys. The winning cup driver/team gets about $2-2.5 million? Thats my guess”.

Talking about the leadership, defending champion Ben Rhodes heads the 2022 leaderboard. The ThorSport Racing’s driver has amassed 206 points with 3 stage wins, and four top-5s. Ben finished second here in Bristol last year.

Kyle Busch Motorsport’s Chandler Smith is in the second position in the standings after five races this year with a win and four top-5s and 201 points. Front Row Motorsports’s Zane Smith occupies the third spot with 184 points with two wins, three top-5s and three stage wins.
