The Stewart-Haas Racing team has not enjoyed the last couple of seasons. In 2023, the organization ended its campaign with no wins in the NASCAR Cup Series. This is the first time since 2008 that SHR has not reached Victory Lane. Currently, the team is fielding a relatively inexperienced side in the NASCAR Cup Series, and Chase Briscoe is the most experienced of the quartet, with four years under his belt.

Meanwhile, teammates Josh Berry, Noah Gragson, and Ryan Preece are less experienced with the SHR way of life. Lately, there has been a lot of speculation about the future of Stewart-Haas Racing. There are suggestions that the team could downgrade from four cars to two.

There is some concern that Chase Briscoe could be one of the two drivers at risk of being axed. The good news for the #14 driver is that SHR has an option for him for the 2025 season. All this is in spite of needing a new manufacturer deal and a new sponsorship deal.

How can Chase Briscoe continue racing in the Cup Series?

Of course, a number of fans would love to see the #14 driver still on the SHR roster. Despite the team’s lack of results, he has been one of the most consistent performers and has regularly been battling up front. One response on Reddit read, “Just waiting for the shoe to drop at SHR ngl, just hope Briscoe and the 14 team can keep improving no matter what happens.”

Few admitted that even if he leaves Stewart-Haas Racing, someone else should snap him up. A comment backing this read, “Shr sells 2 of their charters, RFK buys 1 of them. Briscoe to RFK in their new 3rd car, the 26”. However, not many are holding their breath, because there is another contender for the available seats in 2025.

As one person put it, “Odds are it’d be Haley to the 3rd RFK car unless Briscoe brings a shit ton of money to the table. It appears, to me, that Justin is the heir apparent to the 6 when Brad hangs it up.”

Apparently, Brad Keselowski was a big fan of Chase Briscoe. This isn’t surprising, considering that he drove for the 2012 Cup Series champion in the Truck Series at Brad Keselowski Racing. One Redditor said, “I think if there’s a world to get Chase to RFK Brad would. He was REALLY big on him when he drove for BKR. That being said, I think he’d have to bring some money. Personally, I’d LOVE to see this happen. I’m a big fan of Chase and RFK.”

Another even pointed out that Cole Custer was just as talented. Although he was moved down the Xfinity Series, he proved his worth with a title win in 2023. They noted, “If you give those two good cars, they’ll win races. Unfortunately, they’ve never had good cars in the Cup series.”

What also works in Briscoe’s favor is not only Keselowski’s support, but Ford also likes him. He has also driven for Roush Fenway Racing in the Xfinity Series, so it would be familiar territory. One thing is for sure: Chase Briscoe will want to continue delivering consistently good performances in order to earn his 2025 Cup seat.
